It looks like this. The background changes on its own every 6 hours or so, each wallpaper is a different region art/cutscene from Rain World. I really like all the linux desktops I see in this thread, a lot of them are quite pretty

i use both windows and linux but at the moment am stuck on windows 11 so. here.



it's soul eater official art which i edited by adding the little purple pattern to the right to make it fit as a modern wallpaper
i never use my desktop... i just open apps from the search menus so it's barebones, ok?

My desktop is very sparse because I do most things via keyboard/Alfred and also because I prefer to see Mulder's big dumb face being big and dumb

The wallpaper cycles daily through my bespoke collection of Silly Mulder screenshots. In case this also brings you joy I have shared the album here

I'm really Into deltarune right now. I instaled linux a while back and finaly figured out how to decorate it and make it somewhat good.

I'm saving up for a new computer right now so I don't have to deal with all the stupid linux stuff.

Mine's pretty basic - Windows 11, although given Microsoft's ongoing shittiness I'd like to make the jump to Linux in the near future. It rotates through a folder of tiled backgrounds from here every hour, but I set it to one of my favourites to take this screenshot.

General-purpose applications and files go on the left, video games and 'leisure time' applications go on the right, high priority creative projects go at the top, and the recycling bin sits in its special corner.

I haven't posted here in a while. but I've been customizing my desktop to look alike to windows 95, and here it is so far.



I used retrobar for the bar, palemoon browser with the moonscape theme, winclassic and the 'winamp' is spotify! it's a version of it called spotiamp with a gorillaz theme from the winamp theme archive.
I also use betterdiscord with an old steam green theme, but it's not on the picture because it doesn't quite match. the icons are from itch.io !! only warning I would give if you choose to use pale moon, it's kind of a slow-ish browser compared to other options and when browsing personal websites, some java features might not be available. I have downloaded firefox as extra better browser backup for other things.

On extras... I used the camo gorillaz cursors from a very old gorillaz windows theme. Yay, that's it.

My desktop (Linux Mint) :)
The wallpapers change every ~5 minutes between random Undertale/Deltarune pictures.
I'm very happy with the app icons- I made each one using Gamemaker's pixel art editor.

ok and then i never did. swagever. my desktop pc got damaged (screen is all fucked) coming back from software repairs (insane. i send it out for software repairs and it comes back and the harware's fucked.) either way so i it's not like i could show you the linux desktop.

i recently got into the haruhi suzumiya franchise through the novels. this desktop theming can't possibly be a symptom of anything

what i used: the haruhi widget for the background, widgets (the clock, desktop buddies) and the icons.
what you don't experience off this screenshot is the absolute jumpscare that the clock's feature of announcing when an hour has passed is. i'll be coding and then a random character's voice will anounce "午後5時"! (5pm) and it always makes me jump. insane.

Software: Windows 11 with Rainmeter and Retrobar. Browser is Geckium with Fresh Green Leaves theme.
PC: HP Omnibook 14 inch, propped up on a cookbook because I haven't gotten around to get a proper laptop stand.

I just switched to linux, this is my new desktop so far! All my desktop backgrounds have been from AlienMelon's "Everything is going to be OK" for the past 6 years or so- I really love the aesthetic of it, even though I don't usually like super saturated colors. I'd like to add some prettier widgets eventually, but I'm happy with how it looks for now

Here's how I customized my XFCE desktop on Linux Mint. The later is from an earlier point, but I wanted to show off the taskbar/panel background I use.
The music player is AIMP, but its Linux compatibility is still in beta testing. So I have Strawberry as a backup, in case, it doesn't work.

update: my laptop was crushed into pieces. quite literally. and i am now sticking to a desktop pc double booting win11n and linux mint cinnamon. though 1 wont let me log in so i might as well not be double booting but okay whatever. here, muahhhhh. muahhhh
