How did you come up with your username? Why did you choose it?

i changed my name so a new reason to post! its the scientific name for wolf spiders(lycosidae) but the -si- is changed to sea referencing an old username i used for awhile until 2021ish

   My username is my aunt's nickname for me. My aunt is a pretty big supporter and I think Emmy is a nice nickname. 02 is the year I was born.

Also, I chose mintchip for my website related stuff because it's one of my favorite flavors, and just like me, its a unique taste that not everyone can understand the awesomeness of.

I'm not entirely sure... It's partially based on my first name, Luiza, but I'm not quite sure of where the "cera" part came from...

I was listening to a Peter Cetera song when I came up with it, "Hold me 'Til the Morning Comes", so this might have influenced it lol!

I came up with oceansandy02 because I used sandy as an online name before, because it was very loosely related to my IRL name, like how in Projec Sekai, Kanade chose the online name K. I then added ocean to the username because it was related to sand, and then 02 at the end because the 02 reminded me of oxygen, even though the 0 is not an O. I currently use the alias Ocean.

It's one of my all-time favorite songs, and arguably one of Red Velvet's best b-sides & songs in general  I use it in a lot of places, but not exclusively. I know the phrase itself has a religious connotation so I don't use it on websites where I'm not open about my intense admiration for RV.

I chose mine when I was like 8 making a Minecraft account. Yeah really.
"Char" because Charizard (who was my favorite Pokemon at the time, but it has kind of changed to Charmander because they are my new favorite Pokemon ig) and "Bomber" because I thought explosions were cool because I was 8. No, I did not think of the implications, and I still curse my young self for making such a potentially easy to misinterpret username!

Though, I haven't changed it since, because it's what people know me as. I wouldn't wanna change it anyways because you gotta remember to keep weird old embarrassing things about yourself around to remind you who you are. Or something. Yeah it's cheesy.

it's kind of all over the place tbh, it's an amalgamation of:

1. the name of one of the most frequent and my favorite minecraft mods, ex nihilo

2. i generally like the meaning of the phrase "from nothing" it's my own little rebrand and it sounds cool

3. i named my cotl cult 'the order of nihil' and it just stuck with me from there

Well my name is Jahan, so that inspiration is evident. More specifically however, when I was little I used to watch a youtuber called thinknoodles and their roblox username was imnotthinknoodles, so my first use of the username (I don't remember when) was based off that.

yesss!!! I love the story of my username!

My username across basically every platform since maybe 2020 has been Dazhak. I came up with it when making a graffiti tag using cyrillic letters, as some sort of practice for learning russian. The letters Д (D) and Ж (ZH) were my favorites, because they look cool, so I had already decided on using those for the tag.

So then I thought, if I knew any russian words starting with Д, and the word дурак (durak) meaning "idiot" instantly came to my head. After all, the first words you learn in a language is often the insults and swearwords...

I replaced the Р with Ж, and it became Дужак, but since I didn't like how it sounded I wanted to change it. The letter Ж is, as you can see, symmetrical, so I ran with that and placed an A on both sides of the Ж. Voila, a username that is never taken by anyone else!

Then I googled it to make sure, and it didn't bring up anything except...
- the name of a dragon NPC (?) from World of Warcraft
- the suggested spelling of "daszak" brought up a brittish zoologist
- and the suggested spelling of "dashak" is the name of a persian village

i was really into ramen noodles at the time, (my first user was noodlenoodlenoodlenoodle), and it progressed into 'bignoodle'. it's ironic because i'm actually very short

I have actually never even considered just using my actual name online. When I was young, the popular thinking was that you should never use your real name online because the internet is a terrifying place where everyone wants to steal your nuggies. Obviously that has changed, but for anything that isn't business related I still always use an alias.

I think most people would still recommend using an alias instead, it is safer to keep your info to yourself. Though I believe if you have a common-ish name (like Tiffany as example, as I knew multiple people with the same name), it isn't a major deal to use it online.

In 2017ish I changed it to "Fox + Osmosis" and got Foxmosis because in high school I always wanted to have a band called Osmosis.  So I changed it everywhere and for the most part there haven't been any issues.  Except this one guy on YouTube actually had the name Foxmosis before me, but the channel had no videos so I thought it was abandoned, and it wasn't in use any where else.  Last year that channel left a comment on my YouTube channel and we had a nice little conversation!  He was surprised that it was in use on Twitch and I was surprised he was still using his YouTube channel.  Life's kinda funny sometimes.

Wow you actually got to chat with the person sharing the same username? That's a cool experience. While I saw there are people who used my previous version of my username KiwiMeow, we never really interacted, so I'm surprised this kind of interaction does happen sometimes!

The origin of my internet 'first name', Kiwi, is it sounds quite similar to my IRL English nickname (in Hong Kong, it is common for people to use English nicknames instead of their Chinese name). While the true reason why Kiwi came to be is lost to time, the most likely reason is that my relatives called me that due to not knowing how to pronounce my IRL Eng nickname (it's a bit unique).

On my early days on the Internet, I had different usernames. But when I started playing Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, I decided to use a new username, combining Kiwi, and Meow, KiwiMeow.

How did it evolve into KiwiMeowo? It comes from my Twitter username. Because KiwiMeow was taken, I resorted to use KiwiMeowOwO, just adding an 'OwO' at the end. But eventually I realised, the 'owOwO' part can be shortened. So now it's
KiwiMeowOwO -> KiwiMeOwO -> KiwiMeowo. Sounds quite interesting.

I chose mine because entropy feels sad and spacey and end of the worldy and I also feel like that and at least  partly a girl. It's not what I use for all things because I am too indecisive to stick to a username.

I was looking for a new ao3 username, so I was just thinking of works until I ended up on 'over' and then decided to add 'more' to it, it ending up overmore. In 2023 it became my default username everywhere. I think it's cute. A couple of times people assumed I'm a big Edgar Allan Poe fan because they thought it came from nevermore.

doom 1993 to put it shortly. classic doom is my favorite game of all time so naturally i just took the name of the coolest sounding enemy. cyberdemon was the shortest and i felt that even if you haven't played doom, it just sounds cool as hell (no pun intended). if i made my website at 14 it would have 100% been entirely doom themed
