Progress on the novel is finally coming along nicely- writing by the big windows overlooking our snowy yard in the morning sunlight has been doing wonders on clipping through the pages. Have been considering figuring out a way to implement how many pages out of my notebook I've used up- I'm beginning to have the feeling this may be a multi-notebook affair, which is exciting. Feels good to actually be so drawn to a project that I miss it when I'm not scribbling away. Also threw up
a handful of blog posts about the whole process.
As for my website, I've been tinkering around with adding things. I just slapped up
a library, since I've been meaning to get into the habit of reading more, now that I've the luxury of time to do so- and plenty of books in my 'to read' catalog that've been loitering on my shelf. It's kind of fun to imagine what all of the covers will look like together after the year is done- and who knows how long I'll keep the site actively updated as a hobby for? Might be cool to see years compiled... Though it's good passive motivation to read more- I really don't do enough of it.
I recently updated my
muse ariadne club area as well. I've always liked the idea of casual, low commitment writing clubs from a distance like this- they used to be more popular on Tumblr, and while I'm not really in a space where prompt writing is something I feel the need to do for practice, or just to keep writing- (heaven knows I don't devote enough time to my novel as is), it is fun to unwind a little with some more casual, personal writing. (And yeah, I do backup a select curation of my forum posts on my personal site like this- more in the trivia section, haha.)
Also wound up
hosting a zine about my tabletop roleplay game campaign character, Roman Bennett, on my personal site as well as on my itch.io. I have to do a little formatting of the pages on itch.io, which I've always found a tiring exercise- and with all of the outages the site's been having lately, it's made me a bit leery. It was a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to host the reader script and the zine on my own site, but I managed it by futzing around with folders, and I'm quite pleased- it's nice to have a copy more directly under my personal control.
