Hey guys, been doing a little tv'ing and came across some great shows which really capture the essence of their places.

First is The Lonely planet's Globe Trekker series from the 90s

And second is Rick Steins food odyssey series but they're hard to find on YouTube. All of the locals in whatever country he visits exhibit a real love of food :cheesy:

I cant believe I missed this topic, I LOVE old travel documentaries! (Those both have unfortunate thumbnails, but they seem great when you start them, Im watching now!)

My favourite one of all time is Around the World in 80 Days with Michael Palin (you can watch here) I used to binge watch this on a loop when I was little, he trys to reenact the book for real, only using transport loosely available in the 19th century - Michael Palin is one of the few stars Id love to meet :ozwomp:

I found this Japan documentary made by one of my favourite documentary presenters - it seems to have been filmed in the year 2000!

Thanks for this! I really liked seeing where the internet was in terms of social life in Japan in 2000, in my head I kind of didn't see it as a massive cultural thing but that's probably my 2002 self speaking. It's funny to hear a presenter actively passing judgement on things, and while I don't agree with too many of the assertions it's definitely refreshing.
