Mostly just having some YouTube video on in the background with the nice speakers on. I like to declutter my computer and hard drives when I can cos it just feels refreshing. And I'm a sucker for solitaire, minesweeper and Cookie Clicker! :ok:

If I really wanna just chill and hang out while on the PC, I throw on either Kind Words or Virtual Cottage (both on Steam).
Both have lofi music and a calming room aesthetic you can customize a little. In Kind Words, you write nice letters to people and receive some back, and in Virtual Cottage, you can set a timer and some ambient noises as well to have some background noise. I use it for studying as well.

I have 252 hours in Kind Words and 202 in Virtual Cottage, so that speaks for itself :ok:

I’ve been lurking on this topic for a while, and I think I finally have an answer.

Most of the time, I find myself, watching a stream on Twitch of a speedrunner playing a game (Usually a Tony Hawk game) on my CRT monitor, and if said stream has no music, I stick a mixtape in my cassette deck that’s attached to my PC via USB. (Or even a record if I have one on me at the time)

On my main LCD monitor, I like to play about with learning an SDK for some obscure retro console, or just chatting to friends on XMPP, Matrix or Discord, usually about languages or retro gaming.

I do a few things when I want to relax with my computer:
  • Listen to music
  • Chat on IRC, what I chat about depends on the channel
  • Browse/write on here
  • Browse personal and or obscure sites

Specifically low energy stuff:
  • Open up Drawpile, and watch people draw.
  • Generate fractals and go through them.
  • Lurk Neocities' activity page.
  • Go through sites I used to browse in the 2000s, and go through their affiliates.
  • Go through old files.
  • Play Yume Nikki and Yume Nikki fangames.
  • Look at art, organise, and make collages of art with Beeref. This is really fun to do with a specific theme or character.
  • Doodle in Kolourpaint/MS Paint/Azpainter2/Kid Pix.
  • Idle in art worlds in VR Chat and watch people draw.

i chill out on my computer by reading through coding guides and messing around with customization! though sometimes i chill out so hard i fall asleep....i'll be reading through some css tips and all of a sudden i'll be waking up two hours later with a crick in my neck :ohdear: i like putting on music in the background while i customize as well! it's fun to just surf through the settings (and the actual internet lol) and whatnot and see what all is available to me.
