I love this! I remember using one of these years ago. I'm not sure if it was the exact same model as yours, but it looks similar. :cheesy:

That’s really cool! How usable are PDAs today?
Not quite the same thing, but I recently got a Cybiko computer, which is a similar concept, and even if it’s fairly useless and obsolete today it has a community of people using it and supporting it, and that fascinates me!

Also, love the dithering of the photos! How did you do that?

pdas are actually really useful!!! they're like planners but they made cool sounds lmao

palm pdas are kinda like that too! the company that made them went under around 2010, so they're pretty much reliant on community support.

you're the first person to notice the dithering!!! congrats!!!

    here's my process:

    • load base image into photoshop (i know, ewwwww.... unfortunately im used to using photoshop and gimp works terribly on my laptop sooooo)
    • reduce image size
    • switch the color mode from rgb to indexed (not sure what menu this is)
    • set "forced" to "web"
    • press ok
    • dithering!!!!!  :ozwomp:

I really love the idea of having a more limited phone at my disposition, i'm probably sounding sarcastic but that's not the case at all!

I feel something like a PDA could help me do stuff like take more and better notes, read stuff, and do other stuff without getting distracted by the limitless opportunities that phones have, it's the same reason why i, in the year of our lord 2024, still want an e-book reader

Maybe one day i can get my hands on one, just to experiment with it and see what it can do

I agree, i think having something simpler yet more refined like a PDA would be great as it would be as capable as a phone, while being less addicting than one

This looks really interesting! What does it do/what kinds of things do you use it for?

This is super cool! I personally have a physical planner and address book and kind of prefer that, but I've thought about getting a PDA at times.
