i've thought of a similar kinda style in the video game ideas thread, but i've been thinking more on it.

about
basically i wanted the game to be 3D and somewhat open-world, but more Dreamcast/PS2-style graphics. probably lower-poly models, using textures mostly for the detail, and the game in general being lightweight and "retro"

i thought about a character creator/editor thing - there would be different types/kinds of base hair, and you can either make them a solid-colour (using a red/green/blue sliders) or you can make a texture for them, similar to making custom tiles in Animal Crossing is done.

hair
i thought of things from twintails, twindrills, long flowing hair, pigtails, and many others too. but probably not "trendy" or whatever, i thought the ones i mentioned were good enough.

there should only be a few base ones, not a whole online catalogue. and they should all be at least unlockable OR they're all available at the start.

i thought the character models would be simple, flat models. like no "chest" more just a solid flat cylinder or something.
there's more emphasis on getting clothing items than anything. and i don't want anything to be paid, more just unlockable.

kinda graphics
i thought maybe cel-shaded or whatever's similar to that in modern engines.

basic lighting works, with possibly settings to turn down graphics settings - it could be turned all the way down, or it could be turned all the way up, or anywhere in-between.
i thought some presets for settings would work well too.

a lot of the textures are tiled across models, and models wouldn't have polygons/textures if you can't see them.
for instance a big cliff (acting as a barrier for the level) would have its front face, but its rear face wouldn't exist because you can't see it.

other
i'm not really sure the gameplay elements for it. that's not one of my strong points... :trash:

anyone wanna do this? i know nothing about coding but preferably not in Unity or Unreal? sorry if i'm sounding picky!

i don't mean to be rude, cold, or anything else really. i'm just autistic plus i'm struggling as well, please understand! communcation isn't my strong point, but i mean no harm! /gen
