its moon knights 50th anniversary this month! his first appearance, werewolf by night #32, was published in august 1975. he also recently hit 250 solo issues (500-600ish appearances total according to
https://cmro.travis-starnes.com/) hes my specialest boy of all time (special interest of 3 years) so i am going buckwild.
moon knight is a marvel comics anti-hero- hes known for being a bit experimental and leaning towards horror, and hes also one of the most famous systems in comics! (about tied with the hulk and jane morris, id say- hulks bigger as a character obviously but not many people know hes a system specifically.) hes on a resurgence thanks to the 2022 tv show and his appearance in marvel rivals (neither of which are very good adaptations, but alas), and his current comics stewardship by jed mackay!
his comics vary a ton in quality, and tend to have a lot of cws attached, but if you have a strong stomach you should read them i like them. mackay's 3 solo runs on moon knight (moon knight 2021, vengeance of the moon knight, moon knight fist of khonshu, the last of which is ongoing) are pretty darn good- there are a lot of callbacks but 2021 was my start with the character so i know it makes enough sense to newcomers. im working on a full reading list for my website but i am. slow
heres him seeing his daughter for his birthday in the most recent issue of fist of khonshu!
