Same. I think I was searching for Texture CDs years ago when I got obsessive about 90s CGI. I didn't join until maybe a month ago tho.

i found melon's personal website first when i was looking through popular neocities websites about a year-ish ago. then that lead me into a bit of a rabbit hole until i ended up here.

I saw a Tumblr post linking to several websites which led me to discovering the Indie Web, with Melonland being one of them.

Someone mentioned this forum on the Reject Convenience forum (which I found through Reject Convenience's Youtube channel) and I'm really glad for that because this place seems lovely! I spent the whole day exploring melonland while waiting for my registration to get approved. I'm still not anywhere near done with it.

Funny enough, I found it while searching for HTML help on DuckDuckGo.

I don't remember exactly what I was searching for (it might have been a way to add a button to play/stop GIFs on a site or how to create a blog-like page. I believe it was the former.)

Someone asked a similar question, and it ended up being one of the search results. I clicked on it, read the thread a bit, and ended up getting distracted by how awesome the forum looked (both in design and concept.)

I decided to apply for the forums and got in ^_^ I'm really glad I did as it's been really fun here!

I honestly found it through chatgpt.  I was looking for an online community that are relatively high in openness and enjoy writing, this place was one of the suggestions, I checked it out and I really liked all the fancy, messy page layouts.

I'm the same, but more recent.  I just made a NeoCities page at the start of this year.  And I must have found a link to Melon through someone elses Neo site.

I found Melonland through Neocities. I don't remember how on Neocities, but it was definitely on Neocities.

Lowkey: after DMing friends about how burnt out on Social Media I've become, and how I've felt like talking about SiteMaking to my Bluesky audience was like talking to crickets, both told me to give this place a shot.

I was kinda worried I wouldn't fit in, and I still feel kinda shy/awkward, but it's nice to be on a forum again after years of being away from them on feeds and timelines.

id seen multiple of my favorite sites on neocities link to it, and i got curious and made an account!! ive had a lot of fun reading everyones posts and browsing all the fun links  id like to be more active here and make some friends!!
