How did you come up with your username? Why did you choose it?

i've always liked when usernames are just a single real word, it's probably something i can trace back to my neopets days (i'm not on neopets much anymore, are "VWN" pets still valuable?) and i'm a big fan of spelling everything all lowercase as well lol. i picked memento because memory has been a major theme in my life lately. big life events are happening to me and it's been making the strangest memories come back, i've been remembering people and places and events that are seemingly unrelated to anything in my present life. i'm really fascinated by this, it's like an entire section of my brain was asleep and now is waking up for some reason. i want to make art about memory and making my username memento, funnily, also serves as a reminder to myself to do that

When your fursona's name and anonymous online identity happens to be such a lengthy Animal Jam-esque name as December Winterwolf, you have to take a few tries to figure something out you want. My first Winterwolf-related username was DecemberWinter5 on Twitter (back when it was still Twitter): December + Winter(wolf) + (200)5. I later changed it to December_W_Wolf to make it more snazzy, and that's what I used for most socials for a few years (Pokemon Go didn't allow underscores, so I settled for DecWinterwolf, and Roblox only allowed one underscore, so I went for December_Winterwolf). I later decided that I wanted a username that worked well with all types of websites and services, so I took DecWinterwolf, tweaked it a bit, and now I use either DWinterwolf, D_Winterwolf (Roblox only IIRC), or dwinterwolf wherever I go! Well, sometimes I use PupCadets as well, as that was my last pre-December username and I think it's top-class, even if I'm not into PAW Patrol anymore (the Pup Cadets are an English branch of the PAW Patrol I created in the summer of 2019 as a young fledgeling, basically OC brain-vomit).

My username comes from a mixture of "rubber hose" as in the old cartoons animation style and Umbreon, a dark-type Pokemon I really like.

As for why I chose it, it's a bit more complicated and lengthy, but the short version is that I decided to have a pokésona instead of a fursona to represent myself online because I prefer it that way.

chamochomps—for art stuff. my youtube, professional nekoweb, ko-fi, etc are all named this. chamo is "achamo" without the A ( torchic's japanese name ) and "chomps" refers to my fursona's big teefers

chamodon—the full title is "Chamodon sapphireae"! i read somewhere that "chamo" means "ground-dwelling" but i cant seem to find the source anymore ??? i know it's also venezuelan slang for "bro"/"friend" and "don" means "tooth" so you could interpret "chamodon" as "toothy/toothed friend" i suppose :) though if i'm wrong feel free to correct me!! i'm always willing to learn! chamodon is my site name!

pkspsapphire—a reference to pokemon special/pokemon adventures' sapphire birch! she's my biggest fictionkin and i used to be delusionally attached to her so it was my username like, everywhere TToTT i still keep it because it's basically my personal brand atp. used for personal accounts on social media

i lived in an apartment on the end of the street, on the very edge of the city, like my apartment backed onto a farm field. about 20km away and over the hill was a massive petrochemical plant (joffre, ab, canada)

this plant puts out so much moisture into the atmosphere that it effects the local weather patterns, or at least thats the local rumour.

one cold calm morning in october(?), my father in law went out for a smoke, and came back in and told me to look at the plant.

a enormous steam plume rose out of one of its stacks and high into the atmosphere, it looked like a massive spaceship in a way.

at the time i was going through a deconstruction period, and i had been 'insignia' for so long but felt like a different person now, and a new username seemed fitting.
