I'm here logging a new crochet project I am going to make. This time around, I plan to make a dollhouse for my Strawberry Shortcake doll.

After doing some research on what materials I will need, I noticed I got a good amount of supplies lying around to use for the dollhouse.

I think I am going to start out small and make the kitchen area first inspired by the 1983 Strawberry Shortcake dollhouse and then just slowly add more rooms overtime to, hopefully, make the full structure intact.

I can't wait to get started on this project. I will be sure to make updates on here when I can on it.

Okay so here are the updates for what I worked on:

    • I made a panel that is 20 stitches long and 20 rows high. Then I back looped The sides and floor for extra dimensions.
    • I then cut some cardboard to give it a sturdy structure base. It's held together with both hot glue and fabric glue for the crochet panels.
    • I also added the roof and gave it some texture with scallop stitches.
  • And lastly, I added two trees for the exterior. The bark is made from felt and the leaves are crochet circles with bobble stitches.

That's what I made for now. Next time I will share how the interior is going and maybe I will add more stuff for the outside as well.

Hey everyone, wanted to update the small progresses I did for the house.

So, after I was able to get the base structure of my house done with, I moved on to work on the interior of the kitchen. I had some decorative paper I had in my crafting stash that I have been holding onto for awhile and decided to use them for this project. I wanted to stick with a rural ranch style look for it so I used a floral pattern design for the walls and a checkered plaid white and teal design for the flooring. They were tacked down with some glue and I did my best to lay them out like actual wallpaper, using that tool that helps lay down wallpaper and not give them air bubbles.
I then also added a red trim for the bottom walls with a red sticker sheet I had also.
After finishing the interior for now, I started making some kitchen accessories for it.

I am building my way up to the more detailed pieces of the kitchen as time goes on, so I started off small. I made a green bowl out of paper from a miniature tutorial I saw online, then I got another solid color sticker sheet to cover it(this time green.)to solidify its shape. I also made a red frying pan out of a water bottle cap(I may have botched badly.) and some wiring for the handle as well. This also was covered with colorful sticker paper as well.
The last one I did for now, was make a tall melting/boiling pot out of an empty thread spool I had in my sewing box. I did the same method of making a semi-bowl shape for it to be on top to resemble a lid this time, as well as hot glued sculpt a brim for the lid and a small round handle at the top. I then gave it two coats of red paint and two coats of matte modge podge to seal it.
These three items and for parts of the kitchen are my way of making them similar to the kitchen accessories for the house, but in my own way.

I will try and update another post sharing what it looks like so far, and I will make sure to share the bowl/plate making tutorial I was inspired by while building in the next post as well.

Thank you for reading my updates and I will come back next time.

Thanks very much.  This project is very soothing for me to work on. I made a haunted house before but only worked on the exterior part. Tackling interior details is a challenge but I am determined to work it through at my own pace.

This is so girly and cute! I make a good deal of miniatures, and I have started and stopped several dollhouses over the years. I wish I still had them on hand, but unfortunately they all got thrown out. Maybe someday I will clear the space needed to start again. Yours looks like it's going to be adorable!

Omg looking through these replays gives me newfound motivation. Thank you. :4u: Yeah I completely underestimated how big of a task this is so this going to be my slowest project to work on indeed. You know what they say, small progress is still progress.

Hi folks I wanted to make a small update on how the crochet dollhouse is going. Sorry that these updates are small. I have realized planning miniatures is a whole detailed progress and skill I have to learn more of overtime.

To slowly get back into it right now, I have made the yellow utensils board table out of layers of cardboard, some paper, and held together by hot glue.

The paint is a white base coat, then afterwards I put a yellow base coat, and sealed it all off with matte modge podge.

The whole thing stands as 3 feet high (8 m) to 2 1/2 feet wide (6 m) (I am so sorry about my metrics.)

I might return to this piece to do some more editing on it but right now it will sit in the kitchen.

Your oven is so cute! One of the things that's most difficult about miniatures is keeping things recognizable at such a small scale, but I was able to tell immediately what the stove was :) I look forward to whatever else you add next!

Making miniatures is suuuuch a rabbit hole, but it's a really fun one! There are tons of youtube channels that have great miniature tutorials for all sorts of scales, and I've learned a lot from them.
