here i made a very crude drawing on how this game will be structured, the main emphasis for now is the hud, based off of meme images like the one below, i want to make one just like it, but real.

i will now explained the points i highlighted with letters
A. a face cam, like the one in doom or the icons in lego star wars. HP is with unrounded high numbers. so is stamina. and effects bar below portrays whatever effects enemies or other things in the hud are currently affecting you.
B. currently on: you can do drugs in this game, stimulants increase your speed and stamina, with the drawback of speeding up the game a little. depressants increase your health, with the side effect of lowering your defense and speed.
current mood: you can be depressed, (higher defense, lower offense, do drugs to remove effect), happy (higher speed), neutral (does nothing),or mad (higher offense, lower defense). these moods will trigger at random.
weakness: self explanatory.
strength: said effect will work better.
C. hunger, thirst poison: self explanatory. boredom does nothing, just for show.
D. little guy in the corner telling you what to do or saying some random unimportant anecdote.
E. minecraft inspired hotbar.
F.gems give you a special ability.
G.a very slow tetris game you must play properly or else you´ll recieve some kind of penalty, havent decided what it should be yet.
H. another special ability. i plan to add multiple characters, all anime girls, with their own ability.
as you´ve probably figured out by now, this will be a movement shooter, similar to that of ultrakill. As of now this is all i´ve come up with for this game, its nothing more than a mere small concept, i havent even designed any characters or enemies or a setiing or even a name. what i need to do first is learn how to code so i can actually make it.
would you play this game? i would, i think thats what matters most.
P.S: is c++ good for something like this? or would c# be better? ultrakill is written in c#, hmmmmm...
PP.S: would godot be a good engine? its free, but im unsure about its strengths and weaknesses for a project such as this.
