Easily the 3DS. I still have my 3DS from 2014 I believe? and I still love it even though their circle pad is broken... The 3DS was my first console but homebrewing definately made me love it wayyyy more. It does so many cool and cute little things and it lets me emulate a lot of games (I have a lot of trouble emulating games on computer for some reason. IDK why retroarch won't let me play anything)

Here's a picture of it because I'm really happy with how it looks

oooh!

for me, it's the DS, 3DS, PSP, and PS Vita. Dreamcast and GameCube too, and GBA as well, but the DS line and the PlayStation handhelds are just my favourite for me

the DS has some of my all-time favourites (Pokemon Platinum, Flipnote Studio, Kirby Squeak Squad, etc) while the 3DS has some others (and the homebrew potential on it is incredible)
the PSP has Project DIVA 2nd and Extend, so that's already one of my favourites. but i love it's graphics for whatever reason, especially if it's cel-shaded and chibi or something. like Room for PSP (cancelleddd (T-T). also it has Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX, which is one of my fav Taiko games.
my Vita is doomed for now (hopefully i can get a new memory card! mine corrupted sadly) but my favourite games on it were Gravity Rush, P4G, Project DIVA f & f 2nd, Taiko no Tatsujin V Version, and many of the indie ports of that generation that were on the home consoles but not on 3DS.

though i loved the Dreamcast because of Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio, and Radirgy, while the NGC for Kirby Air Ride and Zelda Wind Waker.

PC is okay to me, though i really find it hard especially with how much i get overstimulated by a lot of it. i like basic white backlighting or none at all?  :tnt:
though, i do like Terraria for PC over console. i kinda find i have WAY more precision on PC. i might get DIVA MegaMix at some point though i feel way more comfortable in 2nd and Extend.

Well... there isn't really a choice here lol. I've never (and probably never will) owned a console cause I'm from a relatively poor country and grew up with fairly strict parents when it comes to things that are considered expensive, so PC is really the only option. I guess you can also say mobile but most of the games I play are open world ones and that is a struggle for me on there, so phone is really just a backup if something happens to my PC or I'm away from home and wanna do my dailies. I can't even spend money on games so I rely on free ones and Epic Games when they give them out for free each week. I do like my PC and I'm used to it by now so idk how I would feel to play on something else.

my all-time favorite gaming platform would probably have to be the Nintendo DS :seal: i spent countless hours playing Animal Crossing Wild World, Pokemon and Mario Kart DS — sometimes during school breaks, sometimes late at night under my blanket so that whole DS era is just soaked in nostalgia for me.

and i loved the two screens design it was quirky, fun, and felt really fresh at the time. And playing on a DS was somehow more intimate than playing on a big console. Maybe it was the compact size, or the way you’d tap and scribble with the stylus it almost felt like you were physically inside the game. :dive:

Spectrum, PC (XT, 98, etc), C64 and PC (but this time modern). Also tried some Amiga stuff, but only on emulators. It was very fun.

For me, it's a tie between the NDS and PC! :cheesy:

My first console ever was a Nintendo DSi XL. I got it in 2012 and immediately fell in love with it. Before then, I had only played browser games and Snake on my dad's Nokia, so I was blown away by the quality of actual videogames. So I'm sure the nostalgia factor is playing a role here, but the nDS has consistently stayed one of my favorite consoles over the years. I love the foldable design, and the fact that mine came with a stylus slot to always have a stylus with you. Folding the console to pause the games was so cool, and it also helped protect the screens from scratches when it was being carried. I also love many of the DS titles, like Art Academy, Rune Factory 3, the Professor Layton games, Ghost Trick, Picross 3D, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Animal Crossing Wild World, and Pokemon Black and White. Games from the DS era hit that sweet spot between being nostalgic, but also modern enough to be easy to play if you are used to modern videogames. I do enjoy playing retro titles (Earthbound is  one of my favorite games for example), but it's nice having the quality of life improvements of modern games sometimes!
I really like the design of that console era as well. the squared shapes with the occasional sligthly rounded corners, the whites and light greys, the iconic sounds... I think Pictochat is  aperfect example of what I'm talking about!

But as much as I like the NDS, I can't have it be in the first spot alone. It's going to have to share it with PCs. There's a very simple reason why PCs will always be one of the top gaming consoles for me, and it's the indie game sphere.
I like being able to go on itch.io and download a random game by a random guy with little to no experience under their belt. And I like to keep up with small studios through newsletters one their upcoming Steam releases.
Although nowdays indie games may get launched on big brand consoles too if they are popular enough, not all of them make it. And even when they do get launched on console, they often have optimization issues, and I usually still prefer to get them on PC as more money tends to go to the devs.
But beyond indie titles, the environment of PC gaming is just much more community-focused in general. Even big brand games on PCs have mods, custom texture packs, or custom maps. This is often not the case for consoles, which typically make you jump through hoops if you want to have any modded material on them at all.
I just think it's overall a friendlier space for devs, and less centralized. I just wish Steam wasn't like.. the sole way to reliably get games nowdays. I wanna own the damn copy of the game I bought ffs!!!

EDIT: I forgot to say this, but a big reason I love PCs is that.. they can essentially be turned into every other console ever, through emulating. It allowed me to play so many old titles I would not have had a chance to try otherwise

I may be biased, but I find the 3DS a pretty good all around handheld. While it obviously can't play a lot of the console games (the cutoff is SNES, but with a couple N64 games ported), you still get backwards compatibility with every* mainline handheld Nintendo has made, thanks to mGBA (gb, gbc, gba), native DS support, and some oddballs like the VirtualBoy, if you wanted to play one of the 5 games released for it. Plus, it's super easy to mod and has some fun extras like Streetpass.
