Let's talk dream homes

i'd also have to agree with levya! i've always wanted a smaller house in the woods, preferably around the northern california / western oregon area. i'd like to have a garage workshop to work on electronics and computers, and a nice enough kitchen with sitting space and a good oven. i've always wanted a bay window, too, so that would go somewhere, i hope!

as for the bedroom, i'd like to have one of those low beds with a plaid duvet cover :) i think my desk would go in the bedroom, too, but maybe a low desk with a bean bag chair. i'd love to have a reading nook. i'm quite fond of this image.

aesthetically i've always really loved very orange, almost industrial looking lights? i'm not sure how to describe them. but i'd like to go for something that's a combination of warm woods, grays, and greens. kind of like this.

& lastly, very few stairs if any. i've got bad knees. a fireplace would be nice, too!

i haven't put a whole lot of thought into what i want my dream home to be/look like, only things like: having a second floor, a pool, a library room, a walk in closet perhaps, and carpet. i know this is silly but i need carpeting in my home. i currently rent a place with bare floors and it is killing me, i guess it's a sensory thing. i'd like to live in a place where it's autumn all the time (which i know doesn't exist) or at least have it actually be autumn when the season rolls around. where i live, there's no such thing.

I don't care really what I live in, as long as I've the modern amenities I'm attached too, i.e. electricity and plumbing. Where I live though, I have many cares. I want to be somewhere cold, surrounded either by a forest's trees or a mountain's clouds, but probably a forest. I like thick woods since the sun can't reach you there, and that sun gives me headaches and squinted eyes.

My brain constantly flip-flops between two options: a small cabin in the middle of the woods where the nearest neighbor is 1 mile+ away, and an apartment (any size tbh) in a metropolitan area such as NYC or Philadelphia.

I've always liked the city and felt very cozy there and would love to live in it (in theory at least), but I also have a large disdain for other people to a fault and so sometimes I crave as much isolation as possible.

As far as what they would look like, both would probably be kinda messy, posters on the walls (of what idk), probably furnished just from places like goodwill and other thrift stores. DEFINITELY would have a CRT and VCR somewhere. I like VHS tapes and would definitely would be fooling around with camcorders and recording my own stuff for funsies.

A good example of the vibe I'd want on the inside of either the cabin or the apartment is the apartments from that game Session: Skate Sim (pictured beloww).

Honorable mention goes to living in an RV and just traveling around. Very much up my alley but I worry about getting medications, that seems like it would be a capital P PAIN.

been thinking about this a lot as I think more about my future and I think i've landed on some fun ideas....

One hobby of mine is looking at weird zillow listings and such, and I think I'd really like some sort of weird wooden house/collection of buildings that are all connected by walkways and stuff LOL Here's a good example
I'd really dig having one building for my bedroom, kitchen and such and then another for a library and another for my art studio! It'd also be so cool to have an elevated porch for a bonfire or something :) It's such a specific weird thing but I really dig houses/buildings that have cool elevated walkways and such.

As for location, the absolute (unrealistic) dream would be on top of a very high-up mountain!! Living in the Rockies, lots of my trips and hikes are on mountains thousands of ft. up in the air (I even did a hike once that I went 1k ft up from where I started!!)
There's such a different atmosphere up there. All the rocks have moss, the trees are taller and greener, the air feels so much clearer, it's all just so magical! Even aside from just the environment, high-altitude is my pipe dream because it's so magical when a cloud comes by and covers where you're standing. It feels like you're in another world!!

Also living in a wooded area would be so fun because I get all my best ideas out in nature so it'd be really nice to explore (safely ofc) and start to learn the surroundings and make my own trails!!
Who knows, maybe it'll happen when I become a famous graphic novellist >:P

My mum is huge on minimalism, blegh!!!! when we moved she rennovated our new house, which was built in the 70s/80s, and made it white and grey  she ALMOST MADE ALL THE FLOORS GREY!!!! luckily i intervened and now our floors are fake wood so it looks ok. im still sad about the bathroom though. it used to have a really charming bath with little patterns on the side. now the entire bathroom is grey, and most of the stuff is falling apart. like the towl rack and toilet paper holder have broken twice now. so much for minimalism. 

ANYWAY. my dream house would be in the suburbs maybe! if i had animals maybe the countryside so they wont get run over by a car lol. i wanna have a house with one of those sideways roofs, the ones europeons have so the slow falls off. the walls would NOT BE GREY OR WHITE! they would be a dull blue or something idk. and they would have dark real wooden flooring, carpets in the bedroom and lounge room (I was deprived of carpet cuz my mum hates them). i would build a treehouse for myself in my backyard even if im like 30 or something idc. id have a MILLION BAJJILION THINGS ON MY WALLS!!!!! colourful carpets, those funny shaped lamps with colourful glass so when its dark the room looks cool.

OH! and this would be in europe ofc!!! so i can have christmas in snowy weather
