what do you want for your birthday?

hi all! my birthday just passed and i got some pretty cool gifts!! my fiance got me tomodachi life and my sister got me a lovely little candle warmer. what are you wishing for for your birthday? alternatively, what did you get for your birthday this year?

Since I'm hitting the good old 21 this year (September), I'm not expecting anything huge. It'll be difficult with living in a dorm, but I think just being able to visit my favorite arcade the next state over would be nice.

I recently went out to dinner with my family and the place we were at had this AMAZING vanilla bean cheesecake. I told my dad I want my birthday cake to be that exact cheesecake. He thought I was joking, but I wasn't. Barring that, I'm actually a pretty easy person to buy gifts for. I'm obsessed with stationary so I always tell people that a nice notebook or fountain pen is a safe bet. And it is! I'm always happy to add to the hoard.

The only thing I really want for my birthday this year is to throw a really elaborate Halloween party. My birthday is in September, but as far as I'm concerned, spooky season starts in July and no one can tell me otherwise. I just really love Halloween and am sad that I haven't been able to celebrate for quite a few years.

my unrealistiic choices are, a dance dance revolution solo cabinet, or really any dance panel arcade game (ddr solo is just my preferred one since it would take up less space), a ps2 with ddr and beatmaina games (and corresponding controllers), or the fairly rare and pricey super paper mario cards nintendo made 20 or so years ago.

though being realistic as something I could actually get, a new computer monitor (need one with 2 hdmi ports), cool leather clothing pieces, really any sick alternative pieces would be sweet, I guess some new fun earrings, I don't really know tbh. There's not a lot I really want atm that could be more easily bought

though i will say getting art from friends on my birthday is always nice and i always look forward in case they make smth

this year, i got my first bass guitar: a solid-body U-BASS by kala. i love it. i practice it every week, and i've been making up my own basslines and singing songs to them

what do i want for my birthday next year? that's easy... nothing. NOTHING.

why? because i feel like i already have everything i could ever want. i don't really want more "stuff", because i have too much of it as is. i don't care if my family gives me weird looks for saying so; i'm fine with what i have right now. i don't even want a birthday party. just... happiness that i get to live another day

well... maybe that and a slice of cheesecake or two. my aunt bakes a delicious cheesecake

unfortunately i'm starting to reach that age where birthdays disillusion me a little more every year but what always cheers me up on my birthday is visiting my best friend/boyfriend! we've done it for the past three years and every time it reminds me how grateful i am to have lived another year with him by my side :} when i turned 20 in march this year we shared some raspberry victoria pie from a local bakery and it was hands down the best pie i've ever had in my life, i miss it every day

First of all: happy late birthday to you! It's almost my own birthday, funny how that works!

Second of all: ooh... I don't know...
I don't really celebrate holidays and haven't in years -- especially my birthday -- however, I've been considering trying photography with a cheap, old digital camera or something from eBay recently so that I rely on my phone less for things (and because I despise phone cameras). That, or maybe a handheld console of some sort, like a 3DS; I've never owned one and would love to know what it's like to play games on something other than a personal computer.

Or maybe like, a drawing tablet. My own drawing tablet is... pathetic.

Normally what I want is merch/items relating to the stuff I like, but that's always hard because I don't tend to share my interests with much of my family. I'd also like clothes and makeup, but I think being alt makes me hard to shop for.

Honestly, now that I'm an adult living in her own space, I wouldn't mind getting some practical gifts this year, like pots, pans, cooking tools, or stuff for my hair. I've reached a time in my life where those things are lifesavers.
