Rarely.
Back in the 90s I used to play a reasonable amount of Warhammer Fantasy Battle (as it was called back then), Blood Bowl, Dark Future, and others, along with a whole lot more dungeon-crawler/soft-RPGs (Advanced HeroQuest, Warhammer Quest, etc.).
Off the back of an (online) D&D campaign with some friends, I introduced the kids to TTRPGs, and nowadays we have a "Family D&D Night". I'm off-rotation as DM right now, but - painting during boring work meetings! - I've slowly been assembling a menagerie that I anticipate making use of during the next Family D&D Night campaign that I'm responsible for (the attached photo shows some under-construction work: a chimera, three displacer beasts, and a veritable army of fairies). I don't put too much effort in because they're basically going to be used once or twice and then knocked-around as playthings in the "box of Family D&D sundries", but I like them to visually "pop" at least.
The kids really enjoy tactile components, so I try to go out of my way to make the game "feelie": for example, the campaign for which these will be used should introduce them to a hexcrawl mechanic, for which I've manufactured hex "tiles" that will plug-in to a "board" as they reveal the map. It will, I hope, give a sense of "exploring" the world, and they can take turns to be the one to insert the next tile at whatever location they decided to explore-in next!

@Dan Q painting during work meetings.. jealous
I haven't found time to do so since I got made redundant from my old job, early this year. My period of unemployment was mostly full of panicking about running out of money and frantically hunting for jobs, and my first three months in my new job haven't had that kind of meeting (plus, I'm paying very close attention to everything because I don't always know what's important and what's not, yet!).
But I'll hopefully pick it up again soon.
My camera's positioned so that it's impossible to tell whether I'm making notes or painting minatures (or practicing false shuffles and other card sleights... or picking locks... or any of the other random things I use to keep my hands occupied while I'm listening to people talk!).

@OkayRelax yeah, it's pretty brutal right now. I'd been with my last employer 5½ years and they let me go with ten minutes notice. By email to my personal address. Absolutely heartbreaking.
And it's true: the environment's not good out there if you're hunting for work. I'm fortune enough to have three degrees, 20+ years experience, and some highly-marketable skills, and I've always just "walked in" to most of the jobs I've ever wanted... but this time around I ended up having to send somewhere close to a hundred applications before I landed a new one. And it represents about a 28% pay cut compared to what I had before and mostly less-good perks. But I felt I had to take it 'cos... well, I've got a mortgage to pay and children to feed and things!
Good luck out there. It's really horrible. I hope you land something soon.
