Do you paint minis?

I recently started painting minis! Warhammer 40,000 specifically. Orks, even more specifically.
A friend introduced me to the lore and I saw the table top and thought "thats cool" so I bought some minis and paint and got to painting!
Here's one of my minis (I'm a beginner still, don't judge me too harshly)

I paint minis when I'm in the right mood! When I was in University I helped run a Dungeons & Dragons Society for a couple of years and that included hosting mini painting events which were super fun, I've got a bunch of painted minis from that. And then a couple of years ago I got really into the boardgame Unmatched which has grey minis, so I decided to buy my own supplies and paint some of those. Some look good, some look back!  When I get some time I'm gonna buy some better/different supplies and try again. I've so far resisted the urge to buy and paint Warhammer 40k but I've watched a lot and know lore. Really enjoy playing the Space Marine games and Dawn of War.

Your ork looks great! I always loved their broad cleaver swords. I played 40k briefly and shittily in highschool, the mini painting was always the best bit! But in reality my favourite part of White Dwarf magazines was the terrain... I fell off 40k and didn't ever play any ttrpg sessions where minis were used, but in the last few years I started watching a lot of terrain makers on youtube, so I can try and learn how to make little dioramas for my action figure collection! After starting a street alley like four or five years ago and getting stuck on it, I picked it back up in January and I'm now nearly finished - probably one more decent weekend session and I'll share the results  it's in scale with the 6" G.I. Joe Classified series.

Your mini looks great! I got into 40k like two years ago because of the lore, and played a few games with my brother and a few friends via Tabletop Simulator (which I think is the best way to try out 40k without needing to shell out a few hundred $$$ for an army).

I've never finished painting a mini, but I did 3D print and paint the start of a Chaos Knight Army, this is the only progress I made... I should go back and finish the body and whatnot, it was a ton of fun, idk why I stopped tbh.

No. I like Warhammer (mainly fantasy and 40k) and I am reading books and lore on web, playing video games... But I never painted figure. 1. They are expensive. 2. I am not very fond of painting in general. 3. I would have noone to play with.

Currently considering painting my Talisman Tabletop RPG minis, I'm just too afraid of starting alone. I'm in a contact with a good mini painter and we're probably scheduling a paint session together one day !

I did some Warhammer 40k earlier in my life but I gave up because the group of players I had separated due to different paths IRL and I lost interest. I gave my tyranids and dark eldars for free with the codices to a tabletop group that wanted to try it without spending too much money so at least it's not taking dust in a box !
