Any other Cities Skylines players in here? CS1 is my all-time favorite game and based on the trailers so far CS2 will probably be just as good

yesss! i have so much time on the first one and cant wait to see what polish the second brings! Love these types of games where i can just sit back and watch my own creations

I love Cities Skylines 1 but i don't get to play it too often. I don't have enough RAM for all of the mods I use. Thankfully I've heard CS2 will be a LOT better performance wise, so, that'll be swell.

I've racked up 1.7k hours since 2016 this is the first game I've been genuinely excited for in a long time

Love these types of games where i can just sit back and watch my own creations 

Best genre of games imo, it's like a digital equivalent of model trains or lego   I also like Planet Coaster and OpenTTD (haven't tried transport fever, I will someday), and even Minecraft building can be pretty fun. Also enjoy Prison Architect but I feel weird putting it in the same genre as games like CS and Planet

Yeah optimization has always been my biggest and only gripe about CS1; when I bought the Airports DLC I couldn't play with it because my measly 16gb of ram couldn't keep it from crashing I play with a decent amount of mods though, I can't imagine a life without Traffic Manager, Node Controller, Move It, Vanilla++ roads, etc. Probably doesn't help my ram situation

Yeah i feel ya there lol, i can't play cities skylines without a lot of mods. Combine that with having just about all the dlc and... yeah.
I've been meaning to upgrade my computer sometime with more RAM which would make it run better. Having to get like, 32 or 64 GBs of RAM is kinda ludicrous for one game though. Either way, I'm hopeful the second run will run a lot better

I played CS2 recently when it was free for a weekend and it was definitely strange. For those not in the know, it was terribly reviewed at launch for a variety of reasons. I'm just hoping it's a No Man's Sky situation where in a few years we'll have something great on our hands.
At the time of me playing, which was after a few patches I think, it was definitely playable but weirdly barebones compared to its 8-year-old predecessor. It has more sophistacted zoning and buildings, but there were some major basic features missing, like route tracking. I've heard they patched some of that the day after that weekend, bizarrely!
Pros: better zoning, upgradable buildings, prettier.
Cons: i recall still having weird traffic issues and issues with zoning demand, but YMMV

It was a few months ago now, so my memory is foggy, but I'm fine waiting until it's better reviewed and a few dozen ££ cheaper! CS1 still has my heart and 250 hours of my life
