Here's a string of animated Christmas lights I made for one of my sites. Feel free to use it on yours too! I modeled them in Blender, so if anyone would like the source file just let me know. I spent forever getting the compositing to show transparent glows around the lights and then remembered gifs don't support semitransparency anyways  :drat: So the full file is pretty detailed. It looks good in HD too, but this gif is optimized for quick loading and old school appeal. Maybe I'll upload the other stuff later when I'm back to my PC..

This looks delightfully old school, I thought it was an old Geocities find at first! It is so cool how you modeled them yourself! Thank you for sharing

I feel honored to have made something that captures that geocities charm to you! Thank you :)

Today I have also made two animations of my penguin character as a DJ for a feedback button. I think he's pretty cute and multipurpose, so I figured rather than create a new thread I'd share him here too.

Just like the lights, everyone here can feel free to use these however they want on their sites!

I agree the lights look so genuinely Geocities! Despite technology of those years there was an abundance of 3D graphics and GIFs that I still ask myself how it was done. Not an expert on 3D programs but at the same time I'm not sure Bryce was able to produce models in that style that was so prevalent among site graphics...

The penguin is also so cool, too. Technique style you can see it's more modern compared to original Geo GIFs but the heart's totally in the right place. It's got that same mix of randomness and cuteness!
