I've been thinking about this topic for fun (and also just in case I ever get to making it a real project, who knows)

You know those techy gadget-y jackets you often see in cyberpunk settings? I mean those.

So far my ideas go as such:

FUNCTIONALITY

- Flashlight
- Inbuilt (but removable) power bank
- Small speakers maybe??
- A dashcam type camera (one that only saves last few minutes when you tell it to or something) sounds fun altho debatable on certain irl angles
- A small touch screen cyberdeck sounds real cool altho I'm brainstorming WHAT it could be used for.

APPEARANCE

- Pieces of moto armor?
- LEDs
- Many storage pockets
- Writings and logos and spikes to taste

Something like that. My question for this thread is what would YOU suggest adding to a futuristic cyber jacket. Sky's the limit, it doesn't have to be too realistic necessarily  :grin:

I was a fan of cyber punk settings before I got too anxious about the state of the real world to enjoy fictional dystopias anymore.^^ I'm still a fan of functional clothing and tech wear though! : D

My first priority in a cyber-garment would probably be an active cooling system!

im not super into cyberpunk but omg... a techjacket would be awesome!! i think i would definitely want to have like, a music player and headphones connected in it (since i love that crap!!)
i would LOVE to have small led screens (pixel or regular images) paneled around the jacket sort of like how you see people having patches on their fits? well, partially because glowing patches are cool but also i think it would be really fun if i could have little glowing screenshots of my blorbos on my clothes XD

I would add some anti-surveillance tech to it, like some kind of material that distorts camera feeds or provides false reads to automated scanners

- Patches with cool, moving images on them, probably for the bands I like
- Zipper pockets all over
- A cool design or symbol at the back (of course). I'm thinking maybe demon wings or a spine design that goes downward
- Side pockets for knives and tools
- Some markings that glow in the dark
- Have it be really long, like a trench goat
- MAKE IT BLACK!!! GIVE IT CUFF SPIKES!!!!

There's a lot of cool stuff you can put into a custom cyberpunk-style jacket (and other clothing bitties like that). My big few are:
----> Lightweight cooling system
----> Fire retardant weaves
----> Pierce resistance
----> Jacket-attached gloves with climbing spikes (or suction through the cooling system)
----> Plated inwoven kevlar
----> A computer display + scanner in the left forearm (think IQ from R6)
----> Secret skittles pockets (for candy and E/T)
----> Disposable flip phone in a pocket on the right arm

That's just off the top of my head, though. If I took a few days I could probably come up with an interesting list.

My cyber jacket includes the following:
- deep pockets for extra storage
- bulletproof plates on the front since I can just wear a bullet proof vest
- more pockets on my arms and front - for small weapons
- colour dark brown
- small portable battery to charge small items
- usb to whatever organizer just in case I need one
- a place to put my big phone
- flashlight holder to quickly grab it, the flashlight is also durable so I can use it as a weapon

I would most likely have:
  • Speakers
  • Lil' cooling fans to keep me cool during heatwaves
  • A small computer (maybe a laptop or a touchpad thing, one of the two!)
  • A pair of shades
  • Two portable hard drives

I like the steampunk-adjacent side of cyberpunk, so I'd go with:
. Pellet gun sown in for protection
. Shortwave radio
. Walkie talkie
. Flip phone
. Grip flashlight
. Over-the-ear headphones
. Built-in AC
. sown in SSDs for data storage
