oh, i absolutely do, whether i'm taking a bike ride to the convenience store for lunch or snacks, or driving to downtown to do fun things and hang out with friends. if it's a day i'm able to, and there's a cool event going in nearby, i will make a plan to leave the house and live it up. if i don't get any social interaction in my life, i'm going to go INSANE.

rarely. if i need to go to the mall for any reason or grocery shop then yeah, but otherwise, no.

aside from being kind of a hermit, there really isn't much desire for me to go places anyway since i'm at the point in my life where i have the mentality that doing anything aside from remaining home costs money, and i'm trying to save money for important future plans.

I'm out of my apartment probably more than I'd like. I work and have classes, go to a lot of local events and shows, and am a member of a local artist group. I also have days out every so often to hike around with my digicam.

Not as often as I'd like. I can't drive (I tried when I was 17 and scared off everyone willing to teach me  :tnt:) so anything more than a few blocks away is off the table. Luckily I live close enough to a park and my local downtown that I could walk but that requires a nice day and my asthma not flaring up. Days like that are in short supply. Fortunately I have friends and family that can take me places but at worst I can go a full month without leaving the house.

I try to venture out every day if possible, even if only for a little walk or skate. It does my body good to get air. In an ideal world I'd have the forest at my door instead of concrete; much easier to enjoy the outdoors when they're full of natural beauty.

I don't work, but I try to get out of the house most days when I can. To do that, I have a few routines. First, I go to the gym 3-5 times a week. Afterwards, I like to go to a small cafe that's open 24 hours and treat myself to some breakfast tacos. I'll usually bring my computer with me and hang out there for a few hours. It's a good time. Second, every Wednesday I go to trivia night at a dive bar with some friends. We've been doing it now almost every week for the last year or two. Then I try to go to church twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays. Of course, there's little things too like errands or when I have to take my mom to medical appointments and the like.

If I'm being honest, I don't like going out that much at all, particularly because of traffic on the roads. The people where I live drive like crazed idiot maniacs, and there's just so many cars on the roads at all times. It doesn't matter what time of day you're on the road; you're almost always going to get stuck in a traffic jam due to construction, a wreck, or too many damn cars on the road. Being out is nice, but getting to basically any destination is a huge pain in the ass.

woah, it's a shame so many of you people living in the US basically can't go anywhere without a car!  :ohdear: I live in the Netherlands and I wouldn't really a car because cycling everywhere is more convenient. to walk to the supermarket from my home is around 10 minutes, to walk to the train station is around 7. to my uni campus is around 20 minutes by train to the station, and 5 to walk from there
my girlfriend lives around 13km (8 miles) from me, and I always cycle to her. though she often goes by car instead. I actually also cycle to uni often, it's around 50 minutes from my home and when the weather is nice, I go by bike. There are seperated cycle paths everywhere here and you rarely have to share the road with cars.

I basically almost live outdoors, I'm always going on hikes or cycling in my free time. I used to deliver mail full time (of course they do that on bicycle here) when i was in between studies a few years ago so during that time I was outdoors almost the whole day.

I love the outdoors and hate sitting inside! I can't focus on studying when the weather is too nice or just when the sun is out in general lol

oh and i also love gardening!

^ yuuuuuup, it's definitely way harder here in the states, as so many cities here just aren't built with non-drivers in mind. it's better in smaller towns, but if you live in a big city with poor/no public transport, you're basically fucked x( i hate car-dependent infrastructure with a PASSION

as for me, i try to go outside every day if i can! i tend to get awfully depressed if i don't and my adhd usually won't let me focus on work at home. i mostly hang around coffee shops, since there's no social expectation to talk to people there, and you still get to leave the house and spend time around others in a low-pressure public setting where you can just read a book and do your own thing. humans weren't meant to stay inside looking at screens all day!!!

Hardly at all. I have a slew of mental health issues but the main ones preventing me from going out are social anxiety and unfortunately also paranoia. I'm trying to treat both with medication, and hopefully get back into therapy once I have a bit more money again. I haven't had an IRL social life in many years now, but I'm determined I can at some point overcome my struggles and get back to a normal life and be going out regularly again - I just don't know when it'll happen.
