Movie I'm working on!!!!

heloooooooooo!!! this is my first post here and also the first post i have made on a forum!!! :O i stumbled onto this site on a whim and I think its awesome and I rly wanna be a part of this beautiful community that you all seem to have :]

I'm currently working on a movie titled Boston Blues. I just recently finished working on the fourth scene and, despite working on it for two years and only being halfway done. I am hoping to finish it this year. attached is a screenshots of some parts of the movie. this isn't out yet... but you can watch the first scene of it on my website here!


lemme know what u think! also what you think of my website!! There's definitely a lot of work that needs to be done on it but i was teaching myself to code as i was making it (i breifly taught myself some like two years prior but pretty much all of that left my noggin lol)

It's VERY weird, but I think that's a admirable quality to have in a film. I do really like the lofi aesthetic, and the weird mix of live-action backgrounds and paper cutout stop motion is really unique. My only real negative critique is the writing could be stronger. I can't really empathize with any of these character, probably the most sympathetic character is the guy who wrote the song (which is saying something, but the the at least he's not as offputting as the busy-body human friend or the guy who talked about "coming"), BUT then again the whole thing is so off-the-walls bonkers I can see that not really mattering if you keep or maybe even raise the level of insanity. I'm also guessing that the character are, y'know, suppose to be a little awful a la Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office and other "cringe comedies", so that's honestly purely be a preference thing on my part, and maybe narrative depth isn't really the intended point here as much as making an off-the-walls comedy lol

Really good start, I like the visual style a lot and I do appreciate how bonkers it is. A lot of big budget films now lean way to heavily into naturalism for the sake of naturalism and not doing anything surprising or risky, so it's good to see another independent film defying that boring zeitgeist we're stuck in. Keep it up!

i love the visual style! it's not typically what I look for in media, but I think I'd watch a full-length version! the music is fun and paper-drawing style adds a lot as well.

I wonder if it would help to add some kind of "accent color" to each character? I'm struggling slightly to differentiate them because of the similar styles. if you haven't seen Possibly in Michigan (and the creator's other works), definitely check those out as well! I feel like you might get some inspiration (or at least enjoy) them. keep it up!!

I'm being completely honest when I say this: I cannot think of a time I have been more immediately on board with a movie. I love the style of it, and I'm already attached to the characters after two minutes. And we can never have enough movies about messy trans bitches. I'm really interested in seeing the whole thing when it's finished, and I'll definitely check out the other stuff you have on your website later.
