Never heard of it before today, but the name brings to mind Interactive buddy here. I'll definitely have to take a look because it looks like itch.io has a free demo for the game https://notasailorstudios.itch.i:ha:buddy-simulator-1984-demo. Does it require a mouse or controller because I'm stuck on laptop for the foreseeable future.:ohdear:

It's on sale on Steam right now for 5 bucks (not like it wasn't cheap before), so I'll be checking it out tonight!

i'm in love with this game!!!  :transport:

i am weak for "robot/AI friend/love insterest" theme overall, but also... this damn transition from "text adventure" to 2D to pseudo-3D?! oh my gods! soundtracks are pretty, too!

glad to see another fan!

Heyy i love buddy simulator!! I played it on day one when it released and I used to be the admin of the Fandom wiki for the game (before I got overwhelmed by college and left it alone for a while and then Fandom staff took my admin rights away and gave it to some other person without asking  :tnt: ). It's got a soft spot in my heart. I'm sure buddy sim is far from the first one to have this gimmick but I felt the songs you get at the different endings were a really nice stand-out note to end on and now it feels like allll the ai-befriending games have ending songs now! (Indigo Park and KinitoPet come to mind as examples of this; I didn't like KinitoPet at all, but Indigo Park has some heart to it that I like but in a different way to Buddy Sim imo.) I'm glad to see some love for this game since it hasn't gotten a lot of the same spotlight as the aforementioned games doing a lot of the same kind of things.
I'm also very hyped for the buddysim devs' upcoming game Beneath the Frost! Seems very different from Buddy Sim but with still a lot of the same older-computer aesthetic charm.
