Thats strange! I've followed our wiki guide on like 5 different computers from modern macs, to old macs to windows 10 computer and windows 7 computers and a steam deck - its worked flawlessly on all of them minus occasionally needing to select an older Forge version
I'm not sure what the "install to launcher" thing you're looking for is! You just add the zip using "Add to Minecraft jar" in Prism when you edit the details of your 1.5.2 install.
huh. weird. looking at Reddit it seems i needed to copy the 1.5.2 jar from /%appdata%/.minecraft/versions/ (though i'm on MX Linux, a Debian-based distro) and... well yeah, i'm using Prism Launcher, so i'm having trouble finding that. yea i'm using MX Linux and Prism Launcher. not even putting it into the Core Mods or just the other Mods section works. edit: oh it seems i've definitely mistaken it lmao but thanks for the screenshot especially! really helpful!

i have a bit of a suggestion! could you add the mod Customizable Player Models? it goes into the Core Mods folder since it's a JAR file. it allows people to change their models - like mine, which basically just added a second skin layer and gave me the slim arms, which is only natively possible in 1.8.X onwards, i think. and i also got myself a cute witch hat! it's just a mod that changes your appearance. i don't think it's mandatory for everyone, but it's good for those with it already installed. this is the link https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/custom-player-models
