I’ve come across my fair share of musicians on Spotify and YouTube who have barely 100 monthly listeners, and I was wondering if any of you guys had some hidden gems you really like :D

I personally enjoy Hot Dress, Fishboy, and Art Sorority :D

This Ascension!!! They're a 90's ethereal goth band that time forgot... They have four albums and they're all really good though I think my favorite is Walk Softly, A Dream Lies Here :) I found them via youtube when one of their songs got recommended to me... They're still one of my favorite bands ever!!! I got their first album on vinyl as an xmas present last year and was surprised to find out when I looked at the insert that only 600 of those records were pressed  :omg: So I guess that album is a bit of a rarity (on vinyl at least)

I enjoy Jale and Flying Squid a lot. I am also going to mention AlicebanD, however they seem to be a bit more popular than the other two.

I don't think I have a truly unpopular fave on Spotify*, but just wanted to jump in and recommend the site forgotify! It says it gives you a song no one's ever heard before on Spotify, but by my experience it's usually a song that has less than 1000 views (but still has some). The forgotify gods keep recommending me instrumental jazz though, which I'm not really into, so I might come back when it comes up with something I like  :dive:

*I do but they're extremely local and if you search their instagram page I'm instantly doxxed lol

It's got to be Dolly Kay for me! She was a torch singer in the early to mid-1920s, and she had this really nice and deep voice which I could only describe as sounding a bit like the faint memory of an aunt singing at family gatherings...one of my favorite songs by her is this one!

And this one, which was released just about a hundred years ago exactly!

Gargoyle's pretty great—they put out an album called Analog Kid that's a complete bop.

I'm into this Japanese prog band called ARSNOVA because their keyboardist Keiko Kumagai was one of the featured musicians in Ayreon's Universal Migrator albums from 2000/2001. I have no idea how unpopular they are, but given that I've had to get their albums imported into the US via a French distributor I doubt they're anywhere nearly as well-known outside Japan as Loudness, X, or even Galneryus. Hell, I suspect even Versailles and Unlucky Morpheus are more popular.

Here's a video of ARSNOVA performing live.
