I made some faux banner ads!

I'm working on remaking the old windows95.com site as a site layout for a friend, images and all. I was able to yoink the background tile and I already had some images I could use for the ie and virtual servers buttons, but I ended up making my own "ads". I might make some more and think up a script to randomly pick an ad to display, but for now I think I'll just use these.

On a separate note it was so interesting to see how the site was built using pure HTML. As far as I can tell by the wayback machine, the site predates CSS by a couple months, so everything you see is just HTML2! neat!

Those look really cool!

It reminds me of the BannerLink Ads thing someone did where people can submit their own “ads” for their personal sites. It’s all totally free and just for fun.
