32-bit cafe’s pride 2023 event

we have just under a week left for submissions to the 32-bit cafe’s pride zine, which is our mid-year event! wanted to post here in case any folks wanted to submit something for the zine, which will also get you a cute 88x31 button :)

submissions can include:

• an essay about what pride means to you
• a collage of photos of pride events you’ve attended
• a explainer of LGBT symbols or imagery and their meanings
• a how-to of getting involved in helping various LGBT communities
• a presentation of historic LGBT events
• highlights of LGBT historic figures and their contributions
• a history of internet subcultures and the LGBT community
• a list of internet resources for any facet of the LGBT community
• a tutorial of how the personal web can help express LGBT pride
• or whatever you’d like!

Hey @xandra, I have a question in regards to the zine - can it only be something static (like something to screenshot and put into a pdf) or also something interactive on a site where you can click and arrange stuff?

@shevek great question! this is for things hosted on a webpage, so no PDFs. however, you can make your webpage as interactive as you like! in fact, that sounds super creative and a great addition!!

static webpages are fine though as well, but interactivity is such a great way to get people engaged with whatever content you’re putting on the page. :)

Ah thank you :) great, then my plans for something interactive can continue my idea wouldn't have made sense for something that gathers screenshots or text only.

a quick note for any confusion: keep in mind this isn't like a webring; the idea here is to have specific content for the zine's theme dedicated on a page, rather than submitting your entire site! :)
