in terms of calling it a revival, it's hard for me to see that as a good descriptor. the internet never died, we just stopped using it. but what kinds of other metaphors can we use for that purpose instead?
i've always liked "Open Web", to the point of drafting a manifesto about it at some point. it describes the internet as the world we are living in right now, with social media algorithms being the equivalent of being locked in your room and watching TV or something. you're supposed to go out there and explore, interact with others and leave a mark on the places around you!
