I am quite frugal with subscriptions. I prefer to use one-time purchaces or find free alternatives. That said:
- Spotify: I love the service though I wish it it would pay out artists more. I am part of my friend's family plan so this is just €3 a month, for which it's absolutely worth it.
- Nintendo Switch Online: I used to get this for the SNES games, nowadays it's mainly so I have the full functionalities of Pokémon games. €20 a year.
- NLZIET: Replaces mainstream TV subscriptions in the Netherlands, very convenient. €10 a month.
- YouTube subscriptions: I'm subscribed to 2 content creators, €5 a month each.
- Neocities Supporter: €5 a month for supporting a neat project, I think it's a good deal.
- Mullvad VPN: I only pay for it when I need to, which is extremely neat.
- Tumblr ad-free: I bought the annual subscription once and I have to say that it's made the app bearable again. I'm not sure if I will extend it, though, since the CEO is still doing weird shit despite the announcement that Tumblr would be sunset.
- Google One: €2 a month for 100GB of storage. I purchased this because I didn't have a short-term plan for backing up my photos and I was going abroad. I do plan on finding an alternative because ew Google.
While I don't pay for it, I make use of the Netflix and YouTube premium accounts of my sister. I've offered to pay along but she declined the offer. Same for Amazon Prime Video that my uncle pays for, but that's like €3 a month. Other than that, I wonder if there's any good services I'm missing out on lol. Often I subscribe to something for only one month just to watch a specific show (like HBO Max and Xbox Game Pass). In the past I was subscribed to a Twitch streamer, but it was quite irregular. And I had Pokémon Bank for 2 years (refused to get a Home subscription, though).
EDIT: Remembered a lot of stuff after reading the thread. Maybe not so frugal after all..?
