I wanna give it a shot for the customization to make a cozier browser but I don't know how good it actually is since I've only heard about it on youtube sponsorships, on the same note if you don't recommend it but know a browser that I could customize a ton (other than firefox, it's good but I wanna try something else) I'd love one!!

I think they're really focusing on performance customization with this one and only offer a little more visual customization out of the box, while other browsers offer that through themes and add-ons. I think you could maybe achieve the same thing in other browsers if you know how to make themes for them (there are usually nice docs for that). If you only want visual customization, that might give you more options and control over it than Opera GX, which seems to focus on CPU and RAM limits so gamers can use as much as possible of those for their games.

I've recently seen people switch away from Opera because of their predatory loan schemes in poorer countries. Some of them have ceased, but the gist is that they have offered apps in the Google Play Store in the past (OKash, OPesa, CashBean and others) that advertised good loans, but what you got in the end were loans with interest rates in the 365-876% range, offered for 15-29 days. Failure to pay them back resulted in threatening all-caps SMS sent to the debtors. These rates and day limitations were in clear violation to the Google Play Store as well. They did this because they didn't make enough money off of the browser.
They deny this, of course, despite a lot of evidence..

I've only used it since mid 2022 and honestly I don't know if I can say if it's fast and efficient as others because it's Chromium, although I currently feel it's already a bit heavier than Brave.

Another thing I noticed that can't seem to be removed is that when you load an RSS/Atom feed, the browser seems to save that URL and starts making requests for that feed every 5 minutes. I noticed this on my web server when I saw that in the logs my Opera GX was making requests to a PHP feed all the time. I tried to disable it from the settings page and with this comment from this Reddit post but it's still doing that, very suspicious.

I'm a big Firefox defender, but I have Opera too and only for one reason: the free VPN. Opera is used as "the international Masked Singer browser" to watch region-locked content in a computer I'm going to "replace" soon (I'll keep it but mostly to access older files, experiment with OSes in it and, of course, watch more Masked Singer  )

After reading through a lot of this I think I'm gonna stay away and maybe just see what I can do with firefox xD, I do like firefox don't get me wrong it's just a tiny bit less then what I want, mostly tiny things that I could probably figure out sp I'm gonna try and work towards making an ideal firefox experience. Thanks everyone!
