Hey! I'm working on a personal website hosted on Neocities, part of the website needed a bit of JavaScript for an animation. I typically use jQuery and therefore linked the Google Hosted Libraries link (specifically: https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.6.4/jquery.min.js) to my html file in the head as I often do. It functioned entirely fine until I tried opening up the website on another desktop after I had updated the files on Neocities. The jQuery on the other desktop was not functioning at all.

Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue when using jQuery?

What I was thinking of doing is clearing the cache of the desktop to make sure it's viewing the most recent iteration of the website. However, I opened up the developer tools and the newest section of code appears to be there, it just isn't working.

The second potential solution I was going to try is just downloading the jQuery files onto the website itself, but that seems like overkill. Especially since it'll take up a portion of the storage available on Neocities, which could be entirely unnecessary. So I was hoping that someone might have an alternate solution or suggestion to keep in mind when working with jQuery on Neocities.

Wouldn't the minimized file only be like 80 KB? I don't think you need to worry too much about self-hosting it if space is your primarily issue.

So the thing you'd wanna look at in dev tools is - A. Are there any errors in the console! - B. Is the jQuery file being loaded in the network tab - (Also C. Does that other browser have Javascript enabled)

However Id agree with Kolo! You are better off keeping all your files in one place and a minified version of jQuery is super small!

Alright! I'll check everything mentioned, but at this point I'll probably just download the minimized file. Thanks!
