Hey, I forgot to do one of these when I first was accepted. Hi, this is Timbre of "Virtue is Dead" introducing myself like a good citizen! I have a bottomless list of media that I'm into so I don't really bother listing such things in my profile, instead shooting for mostly general subject matters. I was mainly interested by MelonLand because it seems to be full of people that share similar general interests and preferences to me which gives me a much higher chance of doing something I've never done but always wanted to; actually be active in a forum at all. I'm still probably going to use this forum primarily to find internet friends and scout new niche stuff to get into. (Also I feel like a lot of you may be much better than me at webmastery, so getting some in-the-know friends would probably be very beneficial)

In my profile I mention I like homestuck, corru observer, all indieweb shit, taxes and economic policy in general, music theory / math music, network engineering, CIVIL ENGINEEEERIIING, writing convoluted unconventional high fantasy bullshit, hiking and urbex + exploring abandoned places, and sizz; if youre curious about specific media besides the few mentioned there, you can check out these links for specifics at the following places;
  • Video Games: Glitchwave
  • Music: RateYourMusic (A fair few artists I like just aren't on RYM but obviously theyre niche enough that it probably doesn't really matter since the fact that they're not on RYM does make it substantially less likely anyone here would recognize them)
  • Anime: Anilist
  • Manga/Manhwa: Also Anilist (lol)

Because I'm a Huge Fucking Nerd™ I almost exclusively read and watch japanese/korean stuff when it comes to non-indie fiction, so I don't actually have a list of western shows / comics I've experienced, unfortunately. The main ones that I like are Over The Garden Wall, Wakfu, Secret of Kells, Avatar the Last Airbender (obviously), Tenet (as well as a whole host of other chris nolan stuff), and a few much more niche movies like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Oh also, the only real western comic I've read was Saga. I'm not through with it, but it's been pretty great so far. I tried getting into Watchmen  but just couldn't.

Absolutely feel free to add me, shoot me a message on here, or shoot me a message anywhere else! The two places I'm generally easiest to find online are Revolt, Cohost, and XMPP.

I was going to name the topic "The Greet King Virtue Is Dead" in parody of the phrase upon which my username was based (The Great King Virtue Is Dead) but ultimately concluded it mostly just comes off as a typo.

i had never heard of anilist before your post... i was still using MAL like a SENIOR CITIZEN!!!

I love manhua too!! I'm obsessed with reading villainess bullshit.. <_> it's so trashy sometimes but I can't stop reading it.

OH, and have you heard of the proper people on youtube? I know they do a lot of exploring of abandoned stuff, I like their channel and the not-so-dramatic editing. Do you have any channels that you really like, or do you do the exploring urself? c:

I don't think I've ever really gotten into exploration youtube channels, no. I just enjoy exploring places myself, primarily for photography purposes. The last place I went is probably demolished now which is a shame since I couldn't explore very much last time due to uh... MOUNTAINS of asbestos. Like dude so much asbestos that the it literally 100% filled entire rooms and spilled out into the stairwell. I said we should come back after we get some proper masks for keeping that stuff out of our lungs, but life gets in the way and the place was unfortunately scheduled for demolition, so I doubt its still around. It was pretty fun especially because the place technically wasn't fully abandoned; it was one part of a multi-building facility undergoing active demolition, so there were actually workers and officers not too far away! We had to sneak in and hide our car behind some conveniently arrange dumpsters. I've only ever recorded one of my explorations, but I never ended up editing it or uploading it anywhere. I might still have the footage laying around somewhere.

Haha, understandable. I don't actually have a particularly expansive to-read list since I'm strangely picky. They say "don't judge a book by its cover" but around 85% of the time I can absolutely accurately judge whether or not I will enjoy something just based on the title, cover art, and general presentation. That's not to say I have "good taste" or something, just strangely 'exclusive' taste. Some things I just cannot stand for no particular discernible reason.
