I'm curious to hear what games you all played on computers in the 90s and early 2000s! Back when all of those freeware games were everywhere. I certainly played my fair share of them as a kid, quite a few that seem to be totally forgotten and hardly ever talked about today. I'll list a few, I'd be very excited to hear if anyone else played these!

Armagetron Advance: a simple Tron-like racing game, in 3D! There's not a lot to it but I remember playing in a few online servers for this back in the day.

Super Mario Forever: At one point in the early 2000s this was one of the most popular Mario fangames around. To this day there's an active community that makes mods and various edits centered around this fangame.

Frozen Fruits: A puzzle game where you play as a ball that moves vertically on its own, but you can control how it moves horizontally. You have to change the colour of your ball to hit all of the fruit blocks that match your colour, all while avoiding hazards and monsters. Has an awesome MIDI soundtrack!

Zeek the Geek: One of the many puzzle games I used to play on all of those "1000-in-1" CD-ROMs. You go around collecting good flowers and try not to get eaten by bad flowers.

Bloodsuckers: A really old game (made 30 years ago now, wow) where you have to slap various insects and prevent them from draining your blood.

Goldpusher: Another old one from the early 90s, a puzzle game a bit similar to Zeek the Geek but you're pushing a pot of gold towards a rainbow.

Snood: It's a "Puzzle Bobble" clone, but all the "bubbles" have funny faces.

GloryZone: An arcade-style space shooter inspired by the classic Galaga arcade game.

There's more but I'll be here all day listing all the ones I remember playing, so I'll zip my lips.  :ziped:

What PC games did you play all those years ago? :)

Oh man I *still* play Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon! The latter is in the form of Open RCT2 which I highly recommend checking out for anyone nostalgic for that game.

There was also Insaniquarium where you feed fish, collect the money they drop, and fight off aliens.

In terms of Flash games I spent a lot of time playing games on a lot of bigger sites like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Lego, Ect.. Its always a delight to find one on Flashpoint I used to play.

And my big white whale of old flash games is the old version of Kerpoof. Back when it was largely just putting stickers onto backgrounds. Everyone always wants to talk about the comic making and stuff and alternatives are usually about that and not the original major site feature! Disney bought it and eventually shut it down in like 2011 and I have never been able to find a way to get it to work again.

My most vivid memories are of edutainment type games. The one that comes to mind is Zoombinis and honestly I still love that game. Even though it's technically "for children", it gets complex enough that it's still engaging as a young adult.

"Hell is other people. But that’s only that side of the coin. The other side, which no one seems to mention, is also “Heaven is each other.” … Hell is separateness, uncommunicability, self-centeredness, lust for power, for riches, for fame. Heaven, on the other hand, is very simple—and very hard: caring about your fellow beings." -Jean-Paul Sartre

zoombinis is THE BOMBBBBB. that game genuinely entertains me for so long even though i'm not a kid anymore, zoombinis holds up

when i was a kid, my older siblings introduced me to pc games like minesweeper, snake, etc. i was mostly playin those.. BUTTT when i had the pleasure of going to the library, it was all freddi fish and putt putt for me... i used to get soooo frustrated at those games c; i remember since the library didn't have individual saves (obviously) i'd just end up playing the first puzzles over and over XD

Oh my gosh I remember Insaniquarium!! I was very into that game a loooong time ago. Must have been around 2004-2005. I have great memories of playing that, and a lot of the other PopCap games too! Like Zuma, Peggle, and Bejeweled. I spent a lot of time playing Plants vs. Zombies too but that wasn't until 2010.

Ooh, haven't heard of this one, but I looked for a gameplay video of it and this looks like something I would have loved as a kid. Some of this music goes hard, there's some serious slap-bass going on haha. Nice~.
