I finished Bomb Rush Cyberfunk before my holiday. It was incredibly fun! I think the game knew exactly not to overstay its welcome - the levels are *just* good in length. Was pleasantly surprised to find out the devs are Dutch; it explains all the Amsterdam references. For those interested: The pyramid island feels so much like Amsterdam-Noord!

Currently playing a DS game called Witches And Vampires: Secrets of Ashbury, its a turn based RPG inspired by shows like charmed or buffy the vampire slayer, althought its probably made to apeal a younger audience.

Its kinda more simplistic than most other turn based rpg, the msuic isnt bad but ti does get very repetitive and I dont find the story all that memorable. Its basically you gotta stop this evil vampire/dark sorceror and to that you must gather all 4 amulets. There also some minigames in there.

I guess its fun if you´re trying to stave off boredom for a few minutes.

Right now I'm really enjoying Pixel Cat's End. I joined in the last round of registrations, so there's a ton of stuff I haven't tried yet. But my not-cats are making friends!

I also made a website recently to store links to games I like: Playce - Weird Fun Internet Stuff. It also has space for the interactive fiction I'm writing and links to fun music and video things I find online.

PS: Also I'm a couple days into Disco Elysium. I just haven't played much in the past week because What Is Free Time, lol.

Man, I really need to play get around to playing that! I love Jet Set Radio but the controls are too janky for me, I've heard Bomb Rush Cyberfunk has significantly better controls. (not surprising, JSR is old and BRC isn't lol) My website name (cyberfunk) was even taken from the game's title!

Have you checked out Hover? It's not exactly the same but has similar vibes and music!

I've been playing a mix of nds/3ds games at the moment, really went ham with sailing the seas. There's loads of games I never played when they came out that I've always wanted to try. Fire Emblem, Rhythm Heaven, Yokai Watch, The Legend of Zelda, I could go on for a lot longer.

i'm currently playing beastieball! it's a game that one of my good friends is a VERY big fan of the game so i was encouraged to check it out! it's a really cute heavily pokemon-inspired game with a volleyball gimmick. very cute and i love the stylistic choices, and riley's my fav

i've also got a handful of games i bought recently but havent given the proper time! i recently bought "sensei! i like you so much!" and its VERY cute alongside goat simulator remastered (one of my fav games), but i definiiiitely dont have enough time to play any of it as right now.

looking forward to playing a LOT of games once it's summer!! generally just VERY excited to do a lot of things this upcoming summer.

The first game that comes to mind is Boiling Point: Road to Hell AKA Xenus: Boiling Point. It's not my first time playing but I've never got very far in the game. It's a very ambitious open world FPS where you juggle relationships between several factions. I love the premise but it's very rough on the technical side. What caused me to drop it this time around was how NPC drivers constantly get stuck when you are in a town, resulting in an endless barrage of honking that drowns out all sound, including dialogue! But it doesn't end there, it progressively gets worse as more and more cars pile up. Forget Far Cry, THIS is the definition of insanity.  :skull:

Next after about a month's break at the halfway point, I finished Neon White! And wow, I loved every minute of it!  :transport:  I didn't think I'd like a game centered around speedrunning but here I am after acing nearly every level, finding every secret gift and completing all but the hardest challenge modes. But gameplay is only one thing, the style and characters were also a big draw for me. Every level has an immaculate vibe; white pillars, flowing water, huge skyscrapers, all rendered so simply and clean. It's almost like a spiritual successor to Mirrors Edge in terms of visual clarity. The soundtrack always fit the mood, whether it be tranquil introspection or cutting through demons at terminal velocities. I've seen people critique the story and characters but a bunch of quirky edgelords tearing shit up in heaven? I eat that shit up! Give me matrix references, tell me the katana is mightier than the gun! Okay but seriously, there's real heart beneath the exterior and I respect the devs for telling an emotional story while being unabashedly indulgent about it  :ha: .

I've also recently finished Sanitarium, the early access of Peripeteia, and vanilla XCOM: Enemy Unknown; I played a bit of the expansion, Enemy Within, after but it's like 10x harder so I might shelve that for now.

I have been playing for the first time the original Ace Attorney trilogy for the past month or so and yesterday I finished Trials and Tribulations!! I looooved every game, I thought the gameplay mechanics were very fun and I loved all the main characters. I'm very excited to start playing Apollo Justice as soon as I'm done with some projects I need to focus on :]

Rogue Legacy 2, Pentiment, Baldur's Gate 3, and UFO 50

UFO 50 is very retro but modern, probably a lot of people around here would get a kick out of it.

Ufo 50 was one of my favorite games I played last year.

Currently I'm (still) playing Balatro, but I've also been sucked into Disco Elyseum once I got it working. Definitely a weird freaking game, but I love it.

Update: I just finished Disco Elyseum, and MY GOD IS IT SUCH A GOOD GAME I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH

Currently playing Palworrrrrrld, the infamous Pokémon with Guns game

It's actually pretty fun??? And I've grown fond of many of their creatures, whether they are more creative takes on the battle monsters we all know and love... or not-so-much  :ohdear:

But overall, I'm enjoying A LOT the idea of base building and creating little production loops with your critters* and the riding aspect of the game: it has A LOT of rideable Pals, and luckily for me, many of them are ungulates  :ha: There's even TWO unicorns with the latest update!! And one of them is a dark-type! And the other has a lightning bolt-shaped horn!!!  :ha:  :ha:

It's a big messy Frankenstein of game mechanics and design decisions, and that's both it's biggest strenght and flaw. I also think it's the best game with the "crusty bootleg mobile game" feeling you'll ever play.

*For those concerned about slavery: although the game lets you mistreat your Pals, in general it's best if you keep them well fed and rested. In fact, the game prompts you to build your Pals A FRIGGIN' JACUZZI as soon as they get a little stressed

I also have this question! I've seen so much about it but I don't think I get it.

I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds, really enjoying it! I've played almost every MH game and wouldn't say it's a favorite (Rise was probably my favorite) but I just love exploring every nook and cranny on the map. Not doing much monster killing in retrospect but still loving it. I am catching all KINDS of endemic wildlife though.

i've been revisiting OFF by mortis ghost after 10 years since my last playthrough. if you're interested in playing it, someone made a browser host of the game here.

at risk of sounding pretentious, OFF's world and narrative carries the same appeal to me as Kafka's stories.
the absurd nature of working within a corporate bureaucracy, coping with the destructive, all consuming nature of capital through satire, a lead protagonist who attempts to be the sole voice of reason surrounded by those he perceives as mindless drones, yet as a consequence of his ego makes fallacious decisions.

i love a game that simultaneously gives me a break from modern life and pokes fun at it. oh and of course it has a great soundtrack! :chef:
