Favorite Albums to Listen Through?

VNV Nation's Advance and Follow

  VNV Nation mentioned. I've never actually listened to Advance and Follow, guess I better add it to the list. What did you think of Electric Sun and Construct?


I am at a point in my life where I almost exclusively listen to full albums vs singles. There are definitely a few albums that I feel must be listened to straight through for the full experience though.

Number one with a bullet has to be Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.


Other notable albums in this space for me:

Songs for The Deaf - Queens of the Stone Age
In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
Fire of Unknown Origin - Blue Oyster Cult

A notable double feature would be Mesmerize & Hypnotize by System of a Down. They are companion albums and the first song of Mesmerize and the last of Hypnotize are intentional bookends of each other.

I do think this is a concept that may be falling to the wayside in the pop-music sphere, a lot of very new artists seem to be building a body of work of disconnected singles rather than cohesive albums. But the indie sphere has no shortage!
