I'm sorry and I hope your leg gets better! :( That sucks, I recently recovered from a broken ankle so I know the experience. Hope it's healing up properly and stuff.

Casting another little bit of necromancy on this thread- but today, I finally managed to hunch down at the table and eke out a few pages of my novel. The end of 2024, bleeding into the start of 2025, was very stressful for me in terms of dealing with some major administrative tasks- and it kind of tainted the start to Intercession I had had scribbled in between high stress moments. It got to the point I was avoiding the journal I've been writing in, so I gutted it- and let it sit for a little bit, before settling down in some nice winter sunlight with it to write some. There's something very pleasing about writing by hand: calming, a more sedate pace, but ultimately more productive when I'm able to hit that 'flow state' where everything seamlessly falls into place that I struggle far more with when drafting directly into a word processor, even with my nice mechanical keyboard. (It's a cheap one, it's just a really nice upgrade from the clunky one with my laptop, or the membrane keyboard I'd been using prior.) I've been meaning to sit down and write- (writers write, after all) and it felt nice to see how easily the words could come forth, once I'd given myself the right context around them (eating, drinking, sleeping, the base needs- and a massive reduction in stress.)

After working for a company (for 4 years) I was made redundant this month... and it took me 2 weeks to finally sort out my resume and send it off/apply for new things today. I have major anxiety, and executive dysfunction so it's a huge deal that I was able to focus enough to do this.
I feel accomplishment from doing that, despite how trivial it is (and how, to most neurotypical folk is not a huge deal at all).
