does the internet show up in your dreams?

I've had dreams where I accidentally go viral on twitter before. I'm not even on twitter at all, I tried using it once for one week in 2018, decided I didn't like the UI and left. But I still have dreams where someone posts something about me to twitter and I wind up being a meme for a week.

With how much I use the internet, computers, technology as a whole its shocking how little it shows up in my dreams! I may dream about something I saw online, but not the act of going online itself. I guess it kinda says something about how I use the internet, the act of using it brings me no reaction, rather it's what I see and do online that sticks with me. I have had dreams where I see falling Tetris blocks, though, back when I played Tetris 99 nonstop

Honestly, I've seen video games in my dreams a lot more.. usually the one I'm hyperfixating on at the moment. The most vivid one I remember is a Phoenix Wright themed one where they like crashed a car into a convention of some kind?? and like everyone there started chasing them??? it was weird

 Well, theres no real fanfare for connecting now.. no dial up noises its just always on. I think the Tetris thing is a real medical condition though

I had a dream just last night that someone finally gave me a job as a web developer and I left my grueling day job, and then my new job consisted of shifting code around and maintaining a website lol

I've been playing a lot of CSGO lately (it helps me deal with anxiety/stress atm) and so a few of my dreams in the last week have either had disembodied sound affects from the game, or just images of me playing the game in my mind or actually being in the maps of the game and wandering around just looking at everything.

Last night was a weird one, entire dream had nothing to do with CSGO but then I heard the disembodied car horn SFX from Inferno's T Spawn area just overlaid ontop of my random dream sequences... was so weird xD

literally a dream job lol :D I wish I had that kinda job too, even if I wouldn't be super good at it..

The internet does show up in my dreams a little bit, like me playing minesweeper (i really like minesweeper) or talking to someone on discord and stuff, but overall its pretty boring

I don't think I can recall ever having dreamt of the internet. I do tend to have very intense dreams, but they tend to be set in surreal distortions of the real world.

I've definitely had dreams about the internet before! I used to have dreams about my old Gaia Online account, back when I obsessively played, lol 

if I do anything generally repetitive before bed (including browsing the same website, playing a game, etc), I sometimes will dream about it right after. most recently I dreamed about a pc game I had been playing... I was exploring a bunch of creepy locales that only occurred to me as frightening AFTER I had woken up

Only time I've dreamt of the internet was in a dream where I used the internet to look at the wikipedia page for some made-up company that made snake. Later in the dream I (coincidentally (?)) went into the building which said company (defunct) used to reside in.

Other than that, not at all surprisingly. I use the internet a lot, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a mark on my unconscious.

surprisingly i don't think it ever has!

a lot of my dreams are fuelled from the media i'm thinking about that day or, more often stressors of my day to day life.

while a lot of the stuff i watch and consume come from the internet, barely any actually CONTAIN the internet, the closest i've probably gotten was a borderline fever dream concerning a minecraft server.

most of the time it's not even that and i'm having a half-nightmare of my boss asking where some magical soup is and it being important enough to cost me my job

i guess for me it's a good thing to not dream of the web, it's something i don't worry about :)

I've had quite a few! The weirdest part about them is that most of the time, I'm sort of...physically inside whatever I'm looking at if that makes sense? Like, I won't see a computer or hold a phone, the entire site fills up my vision and I navigate with my mind. It's kind of creepy in a way, becoming one with the net. If I get any dreams like that, I take it as a sign to take some time off my phone/computer

Yes. I'm not proud of that, but they're pretty much doomscrolling and I wake up and don't remember anything. Just like in real life. lol

Sometimes, but it's quite rare, I'm surfing the web and see interesting websites, but then I wake up and the website doesn't exist. At least it's a source of creative ideas for future projects.

This is so interesting to me. I've not only had dreams about the internet- but I've had dreams about the people I meet on the internet.

Sometimes I'll wake up from a dream about a person I met on discord- and it's really strange to me because, while I only met them online, I have dreams where they are moving physically as a human... and I just subconsciously know its them.

I also had this dream (maybe 3-4 months back?) that consisted only of me texting other people on discord. That was the entire dream. It was an entire, full on conversation on discord with these random people. A few people in that dream, I did know, but majority of them were random usernames.

Funny coincidence, but in that dream, I was chatting with someone called "scar" who was one of the strangers I didn't know. A few months later, a new member in one of my servers joined and her username was "scar." Probably some crazy coincidence but it still has me on the edge of my seat sometimes.

I think I just have a very big addiction to discord LMAO

Same, outside of this forum, poliwager, and usenet (and ig the tumbr rp blog), discord is mainly how i talk to people. Talking irl is a struggle

not really that i can remember, lol!! sometimes my phone will appear in my dream, but otherwise im not interacting with devices nearly as much as i do irl. i wonder why considering i spend most of my time in life using a device and interacting with a screen
