Hey folks! I feel like this kind of weird nostalgic lost media would appeal to y'all, so I wanted to share it  :wizard:

Dizzywood is probably one of the truly lost 2000s kids' MMOs. It went down in 2011, before any of the bigger names such as Toontown or Club Penguin.  I remember it really fondly, though. Something about it was just... different, I guess. It was really liberal with customization of your character and their clothing, it let your characters have superpowers (you could fly and turn invisible), and there were a lot of charming minigames and events and such. It had this really interesting kind of solarpunk aesthetic, and really cute anthropomorphic character design.

I dunno. I just think it's neat. I know some folks trying to remake it (we have a Discord Server, if anyone's interested!) and we were briefly in talks with the website's founder about getting assets, but he's been MIA for almost a year haha.

Anyways, yeah. Anyone else remember this?

I used to try out all of these little virtual world games back in the day!  :ha:  I definitely played Dizzywood for a hot minute! Specifically, what I remember the most was the weird dynamic 3D camera and there were like gems or something you had to collect?

I don't personally recall any anthro characters but I just looked into their website through the Wayback Machine and it looks like they had a racoon mascot and a bunny dude!

Yeah, it was a weird almost 2.5D kind of deal, with 2D assets in a 3D world if memory serves??
As for the gems, there were a few places you could collect things! You're probably thinking about the Crystal Caves and the old ruins, though:

And yeah, the raccoon is Presto! There was also Chanjo the chameleon, haha.

Also, I think the bunny guy is named Higgins?

There was also Katherine! And a whole bunch more on this old wiki someone made ahaha.

I haven't heard of Dizzywood before but it looks super neat! and remaking old web content and games is always good so that more people can experience it! :seal:

Yeah, I'm part of a server that's been trying to remake it, which is kinda difficult because pretty much nothing was saved (the former CEO said he'd send us a bunch of assets, but he's MIA now) but I've still got my fingers crossed, because it'd be really cool to share with the world.

Here's the last process pic I saw.  :4u:
