Hello all! I go by Mossy (she/her). I'm a 90s baby who misses both the looks, functions, and overall vibes of early-mid 00s websites. As a child I used to love visiting pixel adoptable sites, and often dreamed of having such a site one day. Alas, I was not skilled with creating pixel art nor did I have the patience to learn coding. Now, as an adult tired of current social media (and seeking an escape from daily stresses), I've decided to take a stab at webcrafting and hope to make that dream come true, although I'm still at a loss for the art part  :ok:

I'm working on a few sites right now: my main site (linked in my profile), a site for tracking my collections (linked on my main site), and a backup site to show any family members/offline friends who get curious about my newfound interest in coding. I'm keeping the last one a secret here; I want anything connected to my identity as 'Mossy' to be completely disconnected from my "real" identity, so I can truly be free with my main site and the platforms connected to it (e.g. Dreamwidth). If anyone I know "in real life" found my main site etc., that'd defeat the purpose! All my sites are very much in-progress (especially the ~secret~ one - you're not missing out).

A bit more about me: I'm Canadian, in law school, and enjoy crochet and knitting. My ADHD means I'm always surrounded by a bunch of only partially completed projects   Most recently I've gotten into ball-jointed dolls, and want to start sewing clothes and accessories for them. I also like anime and video games, although I'm pretty bad at the latter.

Hey Mossy, welcome to the Melonland Forum !

I remember about pixel adoptables, I loved these and wanted to make some but I'm bad at art and even in pixel art so I never picked up on it. Don't worry too much about webcrafting, it'll be fine ! Take your time  :ha:

welcome mossy, hello!  :seal:

your website is so so pretty, and made me notice we've got a lot in common! i also have adhd so i understand the struggle of continual unfinished projects. i've lost count of how many projects i have just waiting for me to pick them back up! :drat: luckily, when it comes to webcrafting you can take it at your own pace, which is great when you're disabled/nuerodivergent! it'll always be there to pick back up!

i'm also into games, dolls and crafts! i've been wanting to get into collecting fashion dolls lately, and i love the idea of making clothing for them as well! as for games, what are your fav games? i really love creative-sandbox type games and puzzle/strategy games! i occasinally play competitive and high energy stuff but my cup of tea is more laid-back stuff that gates me thinking.  :dive:

Hello and thank you for the gift (it's perfect haha)! I'm also bad at art in general but somehow keep getting interested in creative things... I'll definitely be taking it slow with webcrafting.

Hello and thank you so much! Yup, the unfinished project hoarding is real. At least with webcrafting, I don't have to worry about taking up physical space   For games, it really varies; I like simulation games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, although thanks to my perfectionist streak (terrible to have with ADHD), even those games aren't that relaxing! I also like puzzle/problem-solving and mystery games (huge Ace Attorney fan here). I get nauseous easily from first-person POV games, but still play games like Left 4 Dead with friends when I need to blow off steam  :ha: What kinds of fashion dolls are you interested in? Playline or more adult collector-oriented dolls? (I hope I'm using the right terminology - I'm not very knowledgeable about that side of doll collecting.)

ofc! oh and i totally agree, that's one advantage of webcrafting is that it's all digital so it wont add to my physical clutter. also, i love both stardew valley and animal crossing, they're some of my fav games! :ozwomp: as a recovering perfectionist with adhd i def understand what you mean though, sometimes the creativity is more daunting than freeing. also ace attorney sounds so fun, i've been thinking about getting into it and other adjacent games!  :dive: as for dolls, i think mostly playline but i'm open to collecting all types of dolls as well! i just love dolls in general so any doll to collect is a good doll to have  :4u:
