What do you use to code websites?

I used to use the Neocities editor when I was brand spankin' new to coding, then tried Phoenix Code and got royally frustrated by it, then moved to the in-browser editor Codepen.io, but now I've moved to using VSCodium and prefer it way more than anything else!

I use neovim, I maintain my own "distro" with lots of bits and bobs that help with all kinds of development.

I also use a static site generator I made myself called rubedo which makes everything easier to manage.

notepad or nekoweb editor, if i get around to getting my raspberry pi working as a server and buying a domain name then i would not use the latter.

I used to code with nothing but the Neocities Code Editor (and Notepad sometimes) before I swapped to VSCode. I eventually got shit for using VSCode, so I settled with VSCodium. It's been so long that I can't really tell the difference between VSCode and VSCodium, but it's been working fine for me.

I use phoenix editor. I think that's what used to be brackets. I have been using brackets since 2016 then took a long ass break from coding. Apparently there's better options but I wouldn't know

not languages, but text/code editors! Brackets? NOTEPAD:dunno: do you skip all of that and use a website generator? personally, i found Brackets and Notepad++ very useful, but i like to make pages directly in the neocities editor. this comes with the downside of my WIP pages being broadcasted on the neocities activity page!

Usually the neocities built in editor (ya gal is lazy haha), but occasionally I use Neovim my main text editor

I do all my coding using vim or neovim. I like writing the bare code and the simplicity of the UI. Simplicity in the sense of little screen clutter. There is a definite learning curve.

i just switched from pheonixcode to VSCode, theyre not too different but i found pheonixcode's live preview to be oddly.. fuzzy? it worked well for when i started and didn't have much code and files, but i need something better as i expand. vscode also has a lot of good extensions i like, like css peek :D

I use VSCodium and update my neocities site through a GitHub repository that has a deploy to neocities action.

Sometimes if I'm coding something quick and unrelated to my website, I write it in Linux Mint's default text editor, like a shell script or an HTML snippet.

I've been using Sublime Text for almost a decade now! Before that I used Dreamweaver and before that FrontPage... But that was heckin ages ago...

I'm really happy with Sublime because it's really lightweight and loads quickly, and it's quite simple. You can also install plugins if you want more functionality.

On a web development course I took about 6 years ago, we were using VSCode, and I remember trying to install it at home on my laptop but at the time my laptop couldn't really handle it, so I just stuck to Sublime...

Now, even though I have a better laptop, I actually don't feel like switching to anything else cause Sublime is perfect for me...

good old VSCode, baby! i've also been reprogramming my site to use the Astro framework; reusable layouts will make blogging a little easier, and i just can't pass on having my own blog. (still in the works though, current site uses plain HTML formatting)

I might switch to just using nano instead of Kate. While Kate automatically adding quotation marks and closing brackets at the end is useful, it can be kinda inconsistent about when it adds them. So I'd rather just get used to not relying on that.
