i hate variations of "it's for kids, they'll watch anything, because kids are stupid". a classic cop-out for any hack writer who thinks that flashy colors and loud noises qualify as worthwhile children's entertainment

uh, no, sir. shrek, the lion king, toy story, spider-verse, bluey, peanuts, A:TLA, the owl house, gravity falls, adventure time, TMNT, pretty cure, doraemon, and winnie the pooh are all proof that it is possible to tell a great story to children, without insulting their intelligence. now will everyone stop assuming that all children's entertainment is just caillou, cocomelon, baby shark, and youtube shorts content farms? PLEASE?
