Because I am too excited for Spring  :transport:  I love Winter and how calm it is, especially since it gives me a good break from fighting the bindweed and brambles in the garden! Though this season I've found myself really longing for Spring, mainly cos I'm excited to try and grow new plants!

Is anybody else hoping to grow something this year? Indoor or outdoor, I'd love to know! I'm hoping to grow some strawberries, night blooming flowers, and a herb which apparently tastes like a mix of broccoli and spinach!  :ha: Need to find soil for all the pots first  :tnt:

This is... something I been thinking about for a while now. A few times in the past I tried to grow something but executive dysfuncion results in me neglecting it and it dying from lack of watering and lack of sunlight. 😭

if I do decide to get myself a plant to grow, I'm going with a succulent. I haven't decided on what yet, but I definitely KNOW I want something a little low maintenance and easy to care for.

I've got a list of things I want to try and grow this year! I love the idea of growing my own food, although a few of these are for my guinea pigs.
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Bell peppers
  • Cilantro
  • Cucumbers
  • Rosemary
I'm also wanting to grow some Zinnias! I grew some last year, and they did really well. I got so many pink and orange blooms  :4u:

I really want to try growing some grass inside, to give to my guinea pigs.

What is the herb called, that tastes like broccoli and spinach? That sounds really interesting!

I am not a guinea pig, but having some indoor grass sounds nice, you could get some tiny lawn orniments and a tiny fence and mow it every week or two :seal:

This is very lazy garden-ship, but I had some old garlics that had started to sprout, so I put them in a pot and they got really excited and tall! Its very spring feeling, and maybe by the end of the year I'll finaly have new garlic cloves back again for pastas :drat:

I have frozen some orange and citrus seeds a few months ago, after reading a tutorial made by @TheFrugalGamer .
Hope that it works out. Other than that, I'll have to do some work with existing plants - some of my rubber trees need a repot, and I had to cut up my Aloe Vera last week.

Regarding indoor grass: I've some ornamental grass my mother brought back from a vacation in France a few years ago. Really easy to keep alive, and very pretty

Awesome! I hope it works out as well

I'm currently growing winter vegetables like kale, spinach, onions, and bok choy. I also buried some potatoes that had sprouted in the pantry, but they don't seem to have liked the recent freeze. That's fine, since it was a long shot anyway. They'll just go back to the ground and help enrich my other plants.

I'll be starting seeds indoors for the warmer weather, and I've decided to cage them to keep them away from my curious cats. I'm growing tomatoes and peppers, as well as a number of wildflowers that I want to start in my backyard to attract local pollinators.

I've done this with an onion before! By the end I had suuuuch a fantastically tall stalk with a lovely flower on top :) Didn't realise that onions are biannuals and I was supposed to keep the seeds it set off to plant and grow more onions!

I find spider plants hard! Had one which was doing really well til recently, when it just drooped :( They're supposed to be so easy too - I suspect it needs a good feed maybe!

That's such a fabulous idea, how rewarding that will feel when you feed them your home grown veggies! Sounds like a brilliant manifestation of your love for em :3 "eat my looovee!"

The herb is called "Huauzontle (Aztec Broccoli)", I think you should be able to find them online (maybe depending on your location!). I got mine from a seed bank called "Real Seeds" in the UK  :ha:
