Is anyone else currently watching Season 2 as it's releasing? I'm aware that it being on Apple TV+ drastically reduces any audience it could possibly have, it's their only good show, but it seems to be gaining a lot of traction online now that Season 2 is out.

The first four episodes have really got me excited to see how the rest of the season is going to play out, especially after that episode 4 ending...

I am super into severance . I have been meaning to watch it with a friend since season 2 airing but things kept coming up so we've been watching it separately. I have been totally obsessed with dystopias since I read the giver in 4th grade and severance definitely scratchs that itch. I love how surreal it all is. I am also not over lumon apparently manufacturing there own doors. I am aware that the guy who said that was weird and probably wrong but still. Does lumon have a door department?

YESSSS Severence is so incredible! Everyone has such amazing performances, I think Coebel, Milchik, and Mark's actors are my personal favorites. I'm thankful my friend got me into it this year, I can't imagine watching the first season as it came out and then having to wait 3 whole years for the next one

Just got into it actually--  I'm all caught up on the episodes and I am interested to see what happens next. This season took a surprisingly very weird turn with EP. 4
I've been mostly invested in Burt & Irving, they tug at my heart strings. I miss them.

Oh for sure, I remember going through the first season and I began to be reminded of The Giver. I enjoy the weird corporate psuedo-religion in this dystopian iteration. Severance in a way feels kind of palpably close to the reality we have now.. I think that's what makes it so interesting to me

I really like reading the theories too, I think a lot of them are very far fetched but that's the fun in it I suppose. 

Does lumon have a door department?   

I don't think it's out of the question. They have an imports/exports elevator, and also they installed that crazy door to lock MDR in at one point.

Right? The acting is so good, I really feel invested in the episode and don't feel the need to pick up my phone or take a break.

S2E4 was wild! I can't believe that Irv's actor was an actual ice for that scene but they mentioned it in the podcast I believe. Burt & Irv are such a joy, I have missed the romance this season but we do have another romance that is just blooming and a lot more complicated so we'll see how that plays out!

S2E5 was really good, I'm glad this season is just as good as the original season so far.

I've been so heartbroken without Irv and Burt, and now they're back together, and if things continue as I anticipate, I'll be on the edge of my seat. Mark really pissed me off in this episode!!! I wanted to strangle the guy; his behavior during that entire episode truly got under my skin. If I were Dylan, I would have pounded the crap out of Mark... If I were in that situation. 
Also, the Milchick and Huang beef is hilarious, as Huang finds the smallest reason to trash on Milchick... Something about not using paper clips properly? Milchick has steadily developed into a character in whom I am completely invested in, and I would even go so far as to say that I root for him; he's just trying to get his job done, but I believe he's catching along on that-- obviously-- Lumon does not have his best interests at heart. (REPAINTING KIER AS A GIFT FOR MILCHICK WAS INSANE. HE IS TRYING SO HARD TO FIND COMFORT AND SOLIDARITY WITH NATALIE  )

What an episode! Burt and Irv are so cute, and Fields is so weird... Although that look Burt gave Irv as he left has me worried that something else is going on. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it and it's just Burt rethinking his relationship.

The Mark/Helly stuff was intense, both innie and outie, jheez.

Me and my girlfriend finished watching our latest show together and so the current one is now Severance since she hasn't seen it yet! We are 1 episode away from finishing Season 1 and then we're getting her caught up on Season 2 in time for the finale. I've noticed SO MUCH on rewatch, it's insane how good and connected this show is.


S2E7!!!

WHAT! What an insanely great episode, holy shit. They are using Gemma to test how much stress you can put on the chip with so many innies, and seeing how well they can separate the innies from each other/the outie. I feel so bad for her. And, on top of all that it was the directors first ever time directing. I'm so excited to get some answers about the testing floor and the board towards the end of the season, but I know we're gonna have to wait until Season 3 for a lot of the answers.

Suuuuuuper into Severance, I usually have a hard time getting into new shows but I am hooked with this one.  Can't wait for the season to wrap up because I have no idea where all of this is heading.

Season 2 has been out for a while now and it was a ride from start to finish! Severance remains unimpeachable in my mind as peak near-future scifi.
Something I like about a lot of very recent TV (at least the stuff I've been watching) is that it's been a lot more comfortable having likeable and well-intentioned characters across the board, allowing for more subtle character work. Even with the more dodgy characters introduced in S2, everyone is a joy to have on screen! And characters like Mark S, flipflopper supreme, show that good intentions don't mean good decisions or a conflictless story!
How did people like S2 and Severance more generally? Who are you favourite characters, and what about the show stands out to you?
