Continue the Story... one sentence at a time!

Heyoo! Let’s play Continue the Story! Here’s how it works:

We start the story with a single sentence.
Each person then adds to it with one sentence at a time.
The goal is to make a crazy story as we go! (She's so crazzzzzzzy! Love her!!!)
For example:

Player 1: "Once upon a time, there was a dragon who loved baking cakes."
Player 2: "One day, the dragon baked a cake so big, it caught the attention of the royal chef."
Player 3: "The chef snuck into the dragon's cave to find out what made the cake so magical."

I’ll start the story:

"On a stormy night, a mysterious figure appeared at the door of the old house, holding a glowing lantern."

"On the table lay a peculiar, ancient map, its edges frayed and glowing faintly in the dim light of the lantern."

They leaned in close, quickly poring over every little symbol, lettering, and landmass the map had to offer, committing it to memory.

An in that clearing lied the legendary unicorn.

"From the shadows, an old woman emerged, her eyes gleaming with urgency: 'You must travel to Candy Mountain and fulfill the prophecy of the legendary Rainbow Unicorn,' she declared, her voice carrying the weight of fate…"

As her words wispily left her mouth, a violet portal opened up beside her, beautiful smelling sweetness emanating from beyond it's ethereal aperture...

A gentle breeze suddenly started to blow throughout the land, brushing up against everyone's faces like a thousand kisses and inducing a trance-like state of Love that called everyone to ascend Candy Mountain together to manifest the Rainbow Unicorn...

The unknown person took a tentative step toward the portal, and getting closer, could see specks of glitter drifting forth from it.
