I do not use any sort of e-reader device myself
(1) for various reasons; but today, someone from an obscure Netnews faction on a distant side of the small Internet realm has posted about something that I think I need to call to attention immediately, especially
for people who are using e-readers branded Amazon Kindle:
You have until 25 February 2025 to evacuate; failing that means you would be
stuck inside the burning library you could never leave, forever.
(1) And I very much despite Amazon's
bookburning slate (2) specifically, for their digital restriction handcuffs, and backdoors that enabled the infamous
1984 debacle of deleting books people already bought (which I also heard
it happened again despite they phony-promised that they wouldn't unless court ordered them to), and most recently, the
retroactive-censoring of Roald Dahl's works on copies people already bought as well.
(2) Seriously, what do you think "kindle" is supposed to mean?
