[Corrupted Unicorn]

Sooooo, I like to make cartoons. I've spent a lot of my life thinking I couldn't, but now that I've learned it feels like I made a million points in some pinball machine. I'm by no means an expert, but that's not going to stop me.  I'd like to show them thru this topic, if that's okay.

Sooo I've always wanted to make music videos...  And this is the closest I've gotten to make one! It's just an animatic on Storyboarder, and while it's not polished at all... it's ambitious, to say something good about it.

Here it is!

It doesn't embed because it's on Bitview, instead of Youtube. It has WAY less people than YT, but I prefer it because it brings me ease of mind.

So, uh yeah... hope you like it!

crazy good.. I love your style!! Its like the perfect art style for making animatics like this, imo. Kinda inspiring me to finally work on some animatic projects,, very good work!!!

By the way, I took a look at your art, and I like it a lot too! Particularly this piece and your crow and crocodile characters, I enjoy how they're stylized.

This is awesome! It feels like a cartoon opening (I assume that's what you were going for?) and does a good job introducing your characters. I especially liked when they were catapulted through the billboard in time to the music  great work and super charming!
And yeah, I haven't seen bitview before - I love that they pinched the oldschool youtube layout. It looks like there's a decent scene for oc animations over there, based on the related video!

By the power that bestows me, I shall revive this topic and make it my general topic for me animations  And I hope I don't feel embarrassed by it afterwards 

I made another. It's a thirty-second music video. I'll have it on my website too, as soon as I'm done uploading to Archive...

I made this as a way to test/prove myself whether I could make one with the resources and knowledge I have nowadays or not. And I'm very pleasantly surprised with the results!  I want to step aside and focus on static art for a little while, but I'm already thinking of my next animation...

Great stuff! The way that the character's motions serve as a sort of visualizer of the music is so cool. In particular, I like how it melts and turns into a school of fish. That is very creative, much different from just having the character groove to the beat. I was always impressed by how animators do stuff like this, such as synching speech and movement.

Long ago, I once heard an artist lament that hand-drawn animation had so much more life and vibrancy than early computer animation because they actually took the time to account for things like "squash and stretch," and produced keyframes where the characters have strong silhouettes and dynamic poses. These sorts of subtleties definitely make for some pleasing to look at animation. And bonus points if they can make me laugh like kekeflipnote...Sorry to go off on a tangent. It has been awhile since I've thought of animation and your work has inspired me...

In general, I'm having a lot of fun looking at your channel. I could totally see the animatic for the Goldfinger song as a full cartoon. The pacing is great. The character expressions and interactions during the intro made me smile.

...I almost did a loud, obnoxious laugh in the middle of the library at the Jumpstart First Grade video too.

Obvs these are very short, but they're incredibly fun! "toonamv" is very simple (and you probably already know that), but it's very clean and well-framed as an animatic. You'd probably great as a storyboard artist, because it's very readable and has a lot of fun visuals.

Enjoyed Vorrei a whole lot too. Just from that brief snippet, I can see the vision. Would genuinely love seeing a full music video from you.

Thank you! I've been raised on Silly Symphonies and MTV, so while I'm not a MV expert (yet  ), I try to match my animation to what the music expresses to me. I know there's an "animation meme" community - from what I understand, they animate their OCs to some trendy songs and it involves a lot of head-bopping. I guess it's a mix of beginner and more advanced work over there, but I don't think I can consider myself part of that community, for I don't really know/talk to anybody there compared to here, or Neocities, the web revival movement in general.

Back to the topic, I'm really glad to read someone who also appreciates the nuances of animation!  I even got a buddy comment that Vorrei felt "inspired by Fantasia" which is one of the nicest comments I've gotten so far  I really love lushly crafted animation, but since I am still just one person, I guess I'm trying to find that sweet spot between "manageable" and "not cheap-looking animation". Vorrei in its entirety took me 42 days, which got me pleasantly surprised. To think, that The Thing I Always Wanted To Do, can be achievable in a month and a half...!  Of course, I'm aware production time for MVs will vary depending of their lenght and complexity, but Vorrei's give me hope for future projects 

People keep commenting on the Goldfinger-Superman animatic, which I should be happy about, but it embarrasses me a bit (but this is mostly on me, nothing wrong with you guys!) Partly because I think it's messy-looking, and because... I don't know, there's this part of me that hates it when I dare portraying what's going on in my head. But I keep fighting it and proving it that there's nothing wrong with my ideas.

So thank you all for seeing the good things when I can't see them.

Thank you! I think it'll still be a long way from here 'till I'm able to make a full MV, but that's the dream!
