LibreWolf and Waterfox. Librewolf for fun stuff, Waterfox for actual projects. Also have the Startpage browser and Firefox on my phone simply because I can't find any better alternatives on there (my phone is a Google Pixel that I got for cheap and I don't know how to remove Google from it).
Also forced to use Chrome for work but honestly not worth it. Go into the Cookies section and there's so much junk every time.

I semi-recently moved from Opera to Firefox after learning that Opera is Chromium. I'm trying to distance myself from Chrome as much as possible. Firefox is also a lot easier to modify with addons and stuff, which is a Huge plus. uBlock my beloved.  :loved:

I only use Chrome with SeaMonkey because certain websites DO NOT like to load on it. But that's only occasionally so Seamonkey is my main. I even have my email set up through it, a surprisingly easy thing to do lol. I used Kmeleon before it but it started pissing me off lol.

I also use Netscape if I'm in that type of mood, y'know. Feeling a little nostalgic. Semi tangent but it's technically a browser, using protoweb is a cool way to use the "old internet". Its pretty easy to set up and use, at least for me. oldweb.today is also a cool way to do that, but its in the browser and take a lot from the PC. :seal:

i use brave and firefox. i know brave is chromium based which is why i go back and forth with it and ff. i have encountered some sites that load all wonky on ff but not on brave so it's hard to ditch it completely.

Depending on what I'm going online for, I'll use Firefox (my main browser) or Pale Moon (mostly for playing Flash games online using the official Adobe Flash Player version 32.0.0.371 and sometimes just for the hell of it).

I only use Firefox more often because it supports more applications like uBlock Origin and YouTube Redux, though I love how Pale Moon still supports plugins that were deprecated on other browsers and allows for different theme customization options (I have the aero theme installed). I don't like Chromium browsers and will avoid using them unless it's absolutely necessary (like it is for a certain test proctoring extension that only works on stupid Chromium browsers that I have to use for my school), especially with Manifest V3 and its effects on adblockers.

I used to use just normal firefox but then i moved to a fork called librewolf and THEN like many months later, i switched to another firefox fork called floorp and i've been using that ever since... on my phone, however. i still use just normal firefox and not a fork or anything like that (floorp on mobile does sound nice though..)

i might switch to another browser sometime in the future but i think i wanna keep using floorp for now unless otherwise, it's a pretty nice browser

i've been sticking to 115 esr for a while now. it'll still get updates until march 2025. so i'm set for the time being. why 115? i'm just sick of mozilla constantly pushing broken updates and pointless changes and features. my chromium browser of choice is supermium

Used to use Chrome,  but switched to Firefox on my computer, and today i switched to waterfox on my computer and phone so that I can use a different search engine that didn't have AI search results. That search engine is Startpage

On my school cromebook though, I have to use chrome, I think. On the computers at school, I would use bing.

Opera always had more of a serious vibe to me, it was for real adults who needed to do real things on the web. However I know it was the darling of people who loved customisation and it had a lot of unique productivity features.

From what I recall it was sold to a random Chinese company around 2017? They decided to get rid of all the customisation and turn it into a GAMING BROWSER FOR GAMERS!!

I dunno if the world needed a gaming browser, and I dunno how much I trust the company who owns it - but some people seem to enjoy it and there’s nothing wrong with that. It just feels like it changed from a niche browser to a gimmick browser  :drat:
That lines up with when I dropped it, yeah. Opera used to be my go-to browser, followed by Vivaldi and Firefox for its extensions, but I dropped it and switched to Firefox once Opera started axing the features that made me love the browser—I believe it was the first to implement vertical tabs—which it did ~two decades ago. Edge seems to be pushing hard on the power-user productivity side, with the best vertical tabs and grouping, customisable sidebar with numerous productivity apps (I have my vertical browser tabs on the left and the sidebar on the right), and Drop, which allows you to share notes and files across different devices (it’s like if Dropbox were like a little notepad and geared less towards “cold” storage and more “hot” usage). Drop in particular was a godsend for me when I was working as a fully-remote techworker for start-ups that relied heavily on both Mobile and Desktop activity. The vertical tabs are why I still stay with Edge: nobody else seems to know how to make them as organised and unobtrusive as Microsoft. Can’t live without them and, again, they were my favourite feature of old Opera.

At some point, I dropped Firefox because it was slower than Chrome, which was also catching up in extensions. I then dropped Chrome some time in the pandemic for Edge, for being too resource-intensive.

I actually like Opera GX. It has stellar differentiation from other browsers. I like the RAM-limiting and “clean-up” functions it has, and it shows you how much resources are being used by individual tabs. I don’t really care about the built-in Discord integration, but I’m sure it’s useful for some. The built-in YouTube-YouTube Music integration is nice, and they have a similar thing for Spotify. It’s definitely a power-leisure browser. I just wish it had vertical tabs as an option. If I were more of a gamer like I used to be, that’d probably be my second most-used browser.

I think Firefox has a very good reputation for privacy that is
pretty undeserved now. I think a custom hosts file, a VPN, and controlling JavaScript does a better job at making your web browsing more private than relying on any single browser to do your own. There are numerous ways advertisers can assign identifiers and track you now, that browsers can’t help you escape. uBlock Origin so far works well on Edge, as you can see in my attached screenshot. Not that I’m trying to convince anyone to switch to a browser made by a company that shipped a keylogger with a recent OS, just that I don’t think Mozilla Firefox is as private as it is assumed to be. I haven’t tried any forks of Firefox aside from Pale Moon, and that was just for Flash support to play Flash games. It was clunky and slow and I didn’t like it, so I was very grateful when the Ruffle extension was released, and I was able to add it to Edge and play my favourite Flash games smoothly.

I wish Edge was more customisable and compatible with
WindowBlinds. The lack of styling sucks, and I definitely prefer Opera GX’s aesthetic over Edge’s. But at least I can change the flat colour. Haha.

Im trying out Arc right now based on this - so far its super cool! (Although I don't like that it needs a login) but the design and features seem really playful.

The scrapbooking feature is interesting.. though I dunno how much I need it? maybe I do?
The ability to modify websites and share your modifications with others is very cool, I look forward to trying it out! :ha:

Omg it lets you turn youtube text into wingdings

EDIT:
Oh no what have I done

I’m sorry did you say scrapbooking? Shit, I might need to switch… Also! Digging the custom styling. Damn.

Just wanted to chime in with the new reveals about the Brave browser and its founder that have been everywhere, might be interesting for some people:
https://www.spacebar.news/p/stop-using-brave-browser
Oh, wow, that’s damning. Definitely bookmarking that. Very unfortunate, I remember when Brave was first released to a lot of fanfare, a lot of people were excited to see a privacy-first browser from the ground-up. Well! Now we know better.

Currently I'm on Librewolf, I don't exactly love it since it's basically firefox with everything useful stripped out, but the privacy concerns with regular firefox and the things Mozilla has done as a company just give me the ick-

I used Pale Moon for a while, but the lack of useful extensions bugged me, and I used Vivaldi but my adblocker died...Which sucked because it was my favorite browser...

honestly my dream browser would be something with all the customization and vertical tabs of Vivaldi, but on a firefox base instead of Chromium

Sadly I must stick with Firefox since it works best for me. I did try Waterfox once but a lot of stuff kept breaking and I had to switch back to it. 😔

honestly my dream browser would be something with all the customization and vertical tabs of Vivaldi, but on a firefox base instead of Chromium

I wholeheartely agree, I would love a browser that's based offa Firefox's engine with all the fancy features but none of the privacy concerns Firefox has now.

i use zen browser, it's based on firefox with a lot more built in customization options and community mods.

with zen i particularly like having vertical tabs on the left, collapsed with an extension that make them pop out on hover. it gives a lot of screen space and makes me a lot more aware of my tabs for some reason, i never end up with 100 tabs open and theyre super easy to navigate.

pinned tabs in this format have also been a gamechanger to how i navigate the web, feels more like having online apps

i also have an extension to customize right click context menu to just have the 3 things i actually use!

one thing i've run into, not sure if this is a zen specific issue but some sites wont load when running inside other sites such as https://moonjump.app/ i guess it's a security thing

my only unfulfilled desire also exposed by moonjump is a snappy webshare option

anyway zen is by far my favorite browser i've used!

I've been using Firefox for a few years now; it's much lighter than Chrome and the interface isn't overly spread out like a lot of other browsers. I still have a Chrome installation for the occasional site that doesn't work properly on FireFox though.
