Neopets?

Is anyone here active on Neopets?

I played a lot as a kid but stopped around the infancy of the NC mall. Came back in 2023 when I caught wind things were on the up-and-up but I did gradually lose interest :(

Well I'm back again and hoping to find some folks to befriend to keep me motivated to achieve the dreams younger me had of owning some rare and painted pets! (I did unfortunately miss Chomby day by one day but I'm trying to not beat myself up about that )

Anyways how has the site been? What Neopets do you have or want to get? Got any super awesome tips or suggestions? Who is your favorite faerie? Oh, and feel free to send me a neofriend request!

i poke in and out. i think that neopets has been doing pretty good ever since TNT became more independent. i really love what they're doing with pet styles! i want a valentines pet style super bad but its not a good use of my money right now since im taking a short break from the site hahaha. most recently, i made my dream Kiko. i'm still thinking of a name for her petpet, but im really happy with her customization. not particularly original but matches a sponge Kiko really well.

if you haven't started yet, i recommend doing food club bets (i follow these ones) and stocks, they are a really good way to make money. you won't be able to get a ton from the food club compared to older accounts, because your max bet limit depends on your account age, but i still think it's worth it. i also recommend setting up a jellyneo account for a custom dailies list if you like to do more than the daily quests, it makes everything easier to access. also... if you ever buy NC... buy neocash cards online instead of buying directly from the site, you get it faster and you get extra stuff! like gift boxes for NC trading :-)

i'm not really sure if i have a favorite faerie, it fluctuates... i think right now i like the space faerie and tooth faerie the most :P

How cute!!!! I've browsed a bit on reddit and other places and really love how folks theme their pets. There are some really creative ones out there. Sponge Kiko is super cute and I looove love love the pastel tropical theme

Thank you for the advice! I'll have to check those out. I never got into stocks or betting because it all sounded so complicated XD I'll have to read up on the Jellyneo guides.

As for my dream pets...a Halloween Bori and a Plushie Chomby are at the top of my list. I also really like Grundos and Lutaris but I'm having a hard time deciding which brushes I like the most on them :P

they used to be really intimidating to me as well, but they're surprisingly simple! for food club bets, you just have to choose someone to follow the bets of. betters will post their recommended bets daily. in this example, every row of the table represents 1 individual bet. on the food club page, you check each row's corresponding boxes, pick the specified characters from the dropdown menu, and input whatever number the food club says your maximum allowed bet is (or less, if you prefer). it's gambling, but if you do it daily you are likely to see good net gains :-)
*** make sure you do it before bets close for the day (1:45 PM NST)! and make sure that your better has updated their bets for That Day, so you are not inputting yesterday's bets...

the stock market is simpler. every day, you go to the bargains page, pick whichever stock is currently (Curr) selling for 15NP, then buy 1000 shares of it. check your portfolio daily and sell any stocks that are going for +200% of their original value (some people wait for higher, like +400%)! their value fluctuations are randomized, there's no strategy. just waiting.

Dailies are what helps me keep in the loop with neopets! Games are also fun, like solitaire and pyramids. The card games I can zone out to are the best!

I also like keeping a nice shop going, since I have years of items stocked up and nothing to do with them all lmao, but that's more fun once you've gotten back into things and have an items stockpile to start out with. Some people get hardcore and treat it like a stock market, but idk I just like peddling my Dubloons and stuff.

And lastly, if you couldn't tell, Jellyneo is really cool for neopets info. You can catalog items, wishlists, get news, dailies, all sorts of stuff! Very cool site!!
