Oooh, I'm going to use this chance to post some AMV's I was super proud of when I was in middle school. These videos were uploaded around 2008/2009 but I had them on a flash drive since probably 2000-2003 when I made them. I used Windows Movie Maker (which crashed CONSTANTLY) and downloaded the video files via Napster & Limewire. I used that for some of the songs but others the music was made by playing CDs next to my computer and using the Sound Recorder, which is why you hear the AIM login/logout sound effects two thirds of the way in on the Tatu Toaster video. I remember the Linkin Park one sounding like a garbled mess but upon a rewatch it comes through pretty clear. Can't say the same for the footage which is degraded to oblivion!

@sphinx that TLKXLinkin Park AMV is PEAK!!! Do kids still do anime AMVs these days? It was such a cool hobby back then, I'd say it was the first foray into videomaking for many of us.

Seeing as I was able to find a Frieren AMV once, probably. But it does seem less common nowadays.
