this is just something i've been really interested with

though, for me personally, i think i'd have them be two or three different computers:
Computer A: OpenBSD/Windows 98SE, Pentium III, Voodoo 3, 512MB RAM, 800x600 monitor (for old games mostly, or messing around with ancient software)
Computer B: Windows XP SP3 (32-bit) or Windows 7 32-bit (dual-booting with Alpine Linux); Intel Core 2 Quad, GTX 650 Ti, 8GB RAM, 720p 16:9 monitor (for Touhou, Vocaloid/UTAU producing, and older Minecraft)
Computer C: Windows 10 (or 11 but i gutted it)/MX Linux dual-boot, AMD Ryzen 5 (a couple gens behind), RTX 3050, 16GB RAM, and a 1080p 16:9 IPS monitor (for VRChat, more modern games, and emulation - like PPSSPP, Redream/Flycast, Dolphin, PCSX2, Vita emulation, PS3 emulation, etc)

i don't really feel the need for extra beefy hardware, and if possible i'd just want my computers to lack RGB altogether lol (plus i personally find RGB overstimulating)  :ozwomp:

what would your ideal PC be?

I'd say a mobile workstation laptop with a dedicated GPU. Sacrificing some processing power is worth is it for the flexibility of a thunderbolt-supported laptop. My setup would use a thunderbolt dock hooked up to two 4K OLED monitors (depending on the layout I choose to use), an external USB DAC and a USB hub mounted to my desk, either a 4K webcam or a Gopro in webcam mode, a 5.25" Blu-ray drive in an enclosure which can be modded to support 4K Blu-rays, and of course my peripherals. The mouse and keyboard in question I'm not too fussy about, but I'd go for a ten keyless keyboard with cherry MX red switches and pretty much any mouse which has a design which doesn't scream "I spend 16 hours a day playing competitive slop."
I would have some kind of home server to accompany it. I'd use it as both a NAS, to run Docker containers such as Jellyfin and as a workhorse for CPU-intensive workloads such as transcoding or rendering. I would probably also buy an ultrabook for light work like web dev and to remote into my other machines.
